Clarification so as to be clear.

I've already been fairly clear about this in the recent past, but I will state again so as to be clear.

There are some posters who over time I have come to the realization are not serious posters. They will mock, deride, and cherry pick and/or create straw men arguments and fail to answer questions pointed towards them with any clarity and/or completeness. I have found that it is not worth the time and effort to respond to those particular posters. There are four or five of them.

I also realize that these posters will most likely continue to post in the same manner distorting my posts and get away with it since I will not regularly check their responses and will not respond to them. Their twisted and pretzel like logic which circumvents and actually changes the narrative of my posts in order to get their own agenda across as the dominant narrative will continue, I'm sure.

Apparently, it already has.

I have recently posted in regard to what I see as "religious racism". There are those here that exemplify that to the extent that I am not willing to contend with them. For me, it has saved a LOT of time going around in circles with certain folks without accomplishing anything besides wasting the time of other posters who would just as well read something interesting without having to wade through personal attacks and religious racism.

I respectfully request the moderators place this garbage into a MG-2 MEGATHREAD. The charge of religious racism against MG is false. Nobody to my knowledge has belittled his race or skin color. Am I wrong about that? But that is something Mormons have a long history of doing and he wants to accuse critics of those sins? Give me a break.

Along with some others I've mentioned...and not mentioned... I've decided that sock puppet is on ignore also. Mainly because he falls victim to not reading my full post and then cherry picks what he wants to make a point he wants to. This is not uncommon among a few others.

So, rage on, sock puppet!

Again, this simply saves me a LOT of time going in circles or responding to posts that are essentially 'false flags' and/or sending up 'flak' as a diversion or disruptor.

I'm here to have productive conversations and not to be held hostage to past grievances, etc. Knowing that there are some here (and have admitted the fact) who haven't been able to let go and move on is not a motivation to carry on a civil conversation and/or debate with them.

I’ve been trying to draw a line between engaging in good faith disagreement (which I'm fine with) and getting caught in cycles/loops that go round and round in circles which then feel more like performance than serious dialogue. I’m not trying to silence disagreement, I’m trying to preserve the kind of space where disagreement can actually go somewhere. There are times when it seems as if I'm debating/communicating as a caricature of myself rather than having an actual conversation where I'm seen for what and who I actually am.

I’ve found that disengaging when a conversation starts going sideways to be the best tactic. It takes two to tango and I see you and those you called out both dancing together most of the time.

No one will be offended if you bow out whenever you feel like nothing productive is coming from further discussion in a thread. I do it all the time and find it works really well.

I understand. I've found, however, that my solution will work better. The track record seems to demonstrate that it would simply be better not to engage with some people.

It will cut down on a lot of what I see as wasted time for reasons already mentioned.
