Wait, you’re saying that you believe that the
‘immigrants are eating your pets’ line is true? : D
The only time "conservative" and "reality" should appear in the same sentence is one that includes the phrase "out of touch with."
I imagine MAGAte women do have an easier time finding men since the ratio is something like 1:5, can't be very smart and will settle for a dick with a pulse. Some women like to be abused, I suppose.
The first photo (Daily Signal) refers to puff propaganda designed to make the intended audience feel better about itself.
The second photo (JSPP) refers to a study from about 20 years ago, which used data from an additional 5 years prior, so it could very well be true that conservatives seemed happier than liberals a quarter of a century ago. But, this was also before the GOP began its swift slide into conspiracy theories, increased racism, the slow embrace of Hitler as an OK fellow, and the desire to support a coverup of the most notorious case of child trafficking that the modern world has seen as soon as their fraud-convicted political leader decided that he would fight against releasing those files.
The third item - a NIH study - is a good read, but is more about ‘meaning in life’ as opposed to
happiness, and the two can be very different. It also contains this interesting caveat:
“Recall that social conservatism (in form of opposition to abortion and gay marriage) was a better predictor of meaning in life than economic conservatism, whereas the reverse was true for life satisfaction (Study 2). Previous research suggested that the observed link between economic conservatism and life satisfaction can be traced to rationalization of inequality (Napier & Jost, 2008), one of two key components of conservatism (Jost, Glaser, Kruglanski, & Sulloway, 2003). The second component, resistance to change, is more closely related to social conservatism, which involves opposition to cultural changes. This suggests that aspects of resistance to change may contribute to the observed relationship between conservatism and meaning in life.”
In other words, conservatives found great meaning in preventing other people from doing or being things that they personally didn’t like.
That doesn’t sound like the mark of a ‘happier’ person.
