Derailment from "The Top Ten Happenings in Mopologetics, 2025"
May I say that it seems obvious that many have lost their focus and lost their way.
The Church is all about Jesus Christ, not these guys you like to spit on.
I don't think I've read a complete Interpreter Journal. What does that say about me?
But I did study the scriptures this morning. And no, I'm not bragging. I'm saying that if we lose our focus on what is really important it doesn't really matter a whole lot what we are focused on. Even if it's something that is intrinsically validating to one's sense of pride/knowledge/expertise.
Regards,
Mg

After a big to-do where he insisted he doesn't treat others badly or differently, nor does he disrespect others' beliefs, the mentalgymnast is back to his standard passive-aggressive stereotypical putdowns of people who believe differently than he does.
No surprise there.

That may very well be the case. But the thread title refers to Mopologetics, which is not ‘The Church’, right?

Re: The Top Ten Happenings in Mopologetics, 2025
That is true. What I'm saying, however, is that mopologetics can be and at times is a vehicle that leads in certain directions off the path of discipleship. One can lose focus. That is all I'm saying. That, and this is why I find Scratch and the yearly celebrations of apologetics and the silly apologists (his words essentially) to be somewhat of a sideshow...even if interesting to a certain subgroup of those that had/have Mormon attachments of one kind or another.

Thank you to the moderators for moving this attempted derailment.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 9:14 pmMay I say that it seems obvious that many have lost their focus and lost their way.

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

No it's not. There are a great deal of other things too and many of which have been proven false.
Do you need any examples?
Quit trying to act like you're a super-duper Christian, for Christ's sake.

Well, at least when I read the writing in the vignette of Facsimile No. 3, I remain focused and read it for what it actually says rather than read something that has nothing to do with what it really means. So, please give me some credit.
Thanks.

Oh, you read Mormon scripture this morning? Pearl of Great Price?
scriptures wrote:
Explanation
Fig. 1. Abraham sitting upon Pharaoh’s throne, by the politeness of the king, with a crown upon his head, representing the Priesthood, as emblematical of the grand Presidency in Heaven; with the scepter of justice and judgment in his hand.
Fig. 2. King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head.
Fig. 3. Signifies Abraham in Egypt as given also in Figure 10 of Facsimile No. 1.
Fig. 4. Prince of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, as written above the hand.
Fig. 5. Shulem, one of the king’s principal waiters, as represented by the characters above his hand.
Fig. 6. Olimlah, a slave belonging to the prince.
Abraham is reasoning upon the principles of Astronomy, in the king’s court.

And the things Mormon apologists say about what's contained in Facsimile No. 3 is revolting and utterly dishonest. Can MG prove otherwise?
Nope.

I'd say that Dan Peterson wouldn't approve of your lack of attention.
Repent, improve, and read his bloody articles.
