But that one lady said she has kids. What if they were to see that helping people in need, like they learn about in church, isn't always about giving money to old rich guys in wheelchairs building banks for themselves?

Wow! I love the part when the lady screams, "Homeless people don't want our help!"

If Davis County is the Heart of Zion, then this video is the perfect example that proves the Heart of Zion is actually a cold, hard lump of coal. What a great example of Christian charity!

It seems that, increasingly, as Mormonism is becoming more affluent, it is distancing itself from core Christian beliefs and actions.

So, any updates in the 13 months since that story aired?

Now let's think. She went on , If I recall correctly, to say something like "They're drug addicts, they do horrible things. I have to think about my children".

So now we see that Christian values entail only helping people who are good, and who humbly request help.

Now, putting my Christian hat back on, I recall that the deity I was taught to worship sent his only son to earth to call bad people to repentance, in the knowledge that he would eventually be put to a horrible and shameful death by some of the said bad people (some of them known to be doers of horrible things) to whom he had been sent.

But did that deity and his son say "Those bad people don't want our help. And they do horrible things"? Nope. Jesus was launched on his mission, come what may. But evidently different rules for the followers of Jesus are in place today.

On a more general point, is there a good reason why Jesus has decided not to allow His church buildings to be used to provide overnight shelter for homeless people during adverse weather conditions? It's probably a good question to ask a missionary or a home "minister" - why don't you provide overnight shelter for homeless people in your Chapels, and do you think Jesus was involved in making that decision?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Yes. During the last 13 months the people that were bitching about the people that don't want drug dealers and homeless junkies in their neighborhoods also have not volunteered to clean up Pioneer Park and have not invited junkies and crack whores to live in their homes.

I am fairly confident that during the next 13 months, everyone that knows how unchristian Christians are and what Christ would do will have a lot to say about that but still won't have crack whores and crack babies living under their roofs. And no bully breed dogs either. People that know the most about what Christ would do and what Christians don't do that Christ would do, they really hate those damn bully breeds and won't even adopt them from the shelters and say they prefer to rescue dogs.

Are the townsfolk of Kaysville being asked to take homeless people into their own homes overnight?
