Whether they are or not, those unchristian Christians would not do that. And neither would the people that know how unchristian the Christians are and how christlike Christ is and what Jesus would do. Terrible. Terrible terrible.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 1:57 pmAre the townsfolk of Kaysville being asked to take homeless people into their own homes overnight?Whiskey wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 1:36 pmYes. During the last 13 months the people that were bitching about the people that don't want drug dealers and homeless junkies in their neighborhoods also have not volunteered to clean up Pioneer Park and have not invited junkies and crack whores to live in their homes.
I am fairly confident that during the next 13 months, everyone that knows how unchristian Christians are and what Christ would do will have a lot to say about that but still won't have crack whores and crack babies living under their roofs. And no bully breed dogs either. People that know the most about what Christ would do and what Christians don't do that Christ would do, they really hate those damn bully breeds and won't even adopt them from the shelters and say they prefer to rescue dogs.

But are they being asked to put homeless people up in their homes? yes or no?Whiskey wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 2:05 pmWhether they are or not, those unchristian Christians would not do that. Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

No because Jesus would not do anything he was not asked to do and not ask anyone to do anything that Jesus would not do and asking a Christian to have a crackhead in their home is not what Jesus would do. So I guess they are super Christian for that. But not adopting a bully breed dog from the kill shelter? Might get crucified for that.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 2:07 pmBut are they being asked to put homeless people up in their homes? yes or no?

Yes. It is rude to not rescue Bully Breed Dogs and it is fine for people to act like pretentious self-righteous folks that know what Jesus would do and what Christians should do but don't do it themselves a lot. Very fine with that. Yes; Davis County has opened a Warming Center in the town of Clearfield, just north of Kaysville. Kaysville did briefly host a CBWC earlier in this year.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 8:31 amSo, any updates in the 13 months since that story aired?

There have been no reports yet of roving bands of homeless folks snatching schoolchildren, but winter temperatures below freezing were also outlawed in Utah for the last half of the year, so there has been no need for the Center to open.

A classic right-wing false dilemma from Whiskey. If a person doesn't personally take care of as many homeless people as they can afford and then some, then they are hypocrites for expecting minimal support from anyone else. My right-wing frenemy tries the same nonsense. If I'm not willing to go to Home Depot and bring back as many illegals as I can fit in my house, then I have no grounds against people like him who are all for throwing them in foreign prisons or whatever is most convenient for getting rid of them. The crazy thing here is that the church he goes to, his pastor is a huge advocate and runs missions helping the homeless and refugees from places like Syria. So on those rare occasions where it comes up, I tell him don't listen to me, listen to his own pastor. He admits he disagrees fully with his pastor but yet still goes to that church instead of a Trump church for whatever reason.

Re: Kaysville, UT homeowners show up in large numbers to oppose warming center
Leaving religion out of it, I agree that it would not be a good policy for unprepared people to take people with major addiction problems off the streets and into their homes. No-one is proposing such an irresponsible policy that I know of. However, as a tax-paying citizen of a town whose local government I have elected, I feel it is right and proper for me to ask my local government to use some of my tax money to fund well-organised shelters with trained staff to give such people a warm place to sleep and something to eat in the hard weather.Gadianton wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 3:30 pmA classic right-wing false dilemma from Whiskey. If they are well run, such shelters cause no significant disturbance to their locality. I know this from my own experience. And what is more, every person in such a shelter is one less beggar on the street. What's not to like?
