If a driver ploughs into the back of another vehicle at 70 miles an hour, it’s not the vehicle ahead that was at fault. I’m inclined to think that your Christmas tale is either wholly, or in part, untrue.
I will respond to this post. As I said, the police car had jackknifed into her lane. His vehicle (he was off duty) was either number two or number three in line...we don't know at this point. He had not allowed himself enough space in the lane he was in and in the process of whatever happened ended up spinning into the lane my wife was traveling in (different lane than the other cars). My wife hit the passenger back side of the vehicle. Thankfully, he was unharmed. At the scene with multiple witnesses he admitted fault for being in the wrong place which then created the crash situation.
Do you know what “jack-knifed” means? If a car hits a stationary car at 70 mph (your claim), the driver of the stationary car does not walk away unharmed. I’m still inclined to think that your Christmas tale is either wholly, or in part, made up. Too many plot holes.

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I’m sympathetic to life issues when they arise, and empathize especially when those issues happen over the holidays.

Can we reset and address the post as presented? I wasn’t sure what work Frederiksen was meant to be doing. Is there a particular claim of hers that you’d like to explore, MG?
I find doing a quick post-mortem puts things into perspective, and allows for moving on.

Anatomy of a Trolling incident.

12/27, 8:02 pm:

Mg responds to Limnor's post that he posted and disappeared with a passive aggressive appeal to personal circumstance. Note that 10 minutes before this he posted a lengthy disruption full of stereotypical bigotry and dishonest attacks in another thread, where apparently his personal issues had not been a factor. Clearly, the abrupt use of personal circumstance, not evident in other posts, was used to justify the post Limnor is commenting on.

Further events:

Mg's passive aggressive trolling resulted in several chaotic pages in response.

Mg's goal was to troll until he disrupted threads and turned the focus to himself. He used 1) passive aggressive techniques to mask his intent, trusting that some would respond sincerely to his disingenuity, and 2) apparent dishonesty as his personal circumstances were only invoked in threads where he needed an excuse; other threads were filled with his usual methods of projection, gross stereotyping, and attempts at condescension.

Mg's final post (12/28 3:48 pm) is an inflammatory escalation of his trolling techniques. However, it us nothing new and he has repeated this type of incident ad nauseum for decades.

Hopefully, recognizing his repeated trolling methods will allow this trolling incident to be concluded.

Let's move on.

I shouldn't say this, but I will.

You're like my brother-in-law. A nice guy. Means well. But a dipsh*t.

All the best, but you're out of your league when it comes to intellectual discussion with most people around here.

Happy New Year
You're right, you probably shouldn't of said that. I'm not an intellectual in the academic sense. I don't have the Ivory Tower degrees...just a degree in Education. I taught kids for my whole career. Proud of it. No regrets.

But I CAN think. I CAN reason. I am curious about the world around me. I'm a lifelong learner, just as I taught my students to be.

And if I do say so myself, I'm a pretty smart guy (saying this with all humility  )

I suppose that by calling me a particular derogatory name, that is 'winning form'? On a board such as this I wouldn't expect that from a so-called "intellectual" coming from a 'higher place' than where we lowly dumb folks come from.

I've said a number of times in the recent past that it would be nice if we could make more efforts to accept each other for who we are and where we're at...even if we happen to believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

That alone seems to get some people all riled up. Why? I don't really know.

MG

Reposting this to note that mg's final post was not the one I mentioned, as he continues to disrupt and troll.

I will only say that the things being said and thrown in my direction are misplaced and untrue. Not a troll. No ulterior/evil intentions or desires.

This thread was hijacked by those that had no intention of letting the message of "Merry Christmas" rule the day/week.

Aargh.

Let's go with Happy New Year? Is that safe? No reference to God or Christ.

TTOC in response to the posters I have on ignore (as far as responding to directly).

Honestly (and I think there are some folks that would agree with me but won't come right out and say it), I think this board would be a much better place and there wouldn't be "MG threads" if two or three people would find something else to do to occupy their time. I've got sucked into WAY too many of their escapades.

What has bothered me more than anything on this thread is the responses, from a few, that seem to be so calloused and unfeeling in response to the honest account and expressions I've divulged in regards to my wife and mother-in-law. If this is what results when a person leaves the companionship of the Holy Ghost...I would not want anything to do with it.

One poster even said that now that my mother-in-law has passed away that my wife (who will be going and is going through rehabilitation) and I ought to pack up our bags and go on a mission.

That, and other things said by a few, give me little room for respect to those individuals.

MG, I have no idea who you are and what is your schtick. I am only reading this thread because I thought it was the thread that ceeboo started. Been following it a bit since the derails and carrying on has been going.

What you are describing — the few folks and the MG threads — is explainable. Notice the patterns. There are a few folks on here that really miss the Mormon cultural gifts of knowing what another person thinks, knowing what an another person is and knowing another person's actual intent even if all the things they seem to know, are not factual or accurate.

Think about the Mormon cliché. "I know this church is true". Even if the damn church ain't true or if it is not known or if the claim is just bizarre, they say it and they believe it. That is exactly what you are experiencing here. They "know" something that requires a belief, and in their minds it requires no facts, to be true to them. Mostly they are trolling for some affirmation that what they know, someone else also knows, which makes what they know so much more truer than if nobody else knows it.

You are an easy target because you adhere to the silly faith-based Mormon stuff and you give them content.
