I want to be clear about something. When personal, real-world events are introduced into a discussion to explain or justify a position, I’m not always sure how the hearer is meant to evaluate the claim as true, instead of the standard becoming “if you’re compassionate, you must believe me”?Limnor wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 9:38 pmWas there a particular claim of Frederiksen’s that you’d like to explore, MG?MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 9:11 pmI will only say that the things being said and thrown in my direction are misplaced and untrue. This thread was hijacked by those that had no intention of letting the message of "Merry Christmas" rule the day/week.
Aargh.
Let's go with Happy New Year? Is that safe? No reference to God or Christ.
TTOC in response to the posters I have on ignore (as far as responding to directly).
Honestly (and I think there are some folks that would agree with me but won't come right out and say it), I think this board would be a much better place and there wouldn't be "MG threads" if two or three people would find something else to do to occupy their time. I've got sucked into WAY too many of their escapades.
What has bothered me more than anything on this thread is the responses, from a few, that seem to be so calloused and unfeeling in response to the honest account and expressions I've divulged in regards to my wife and mother-in-law. If this is what results when a person leaves the companionship of the Holy Ghost...I would not want anything to do with it.
One poster even said that now that my mother-in-law has passed away that my wife (who will be going and is going through rehabilitation) and I ought to pack up our bags and go on a mission.
That, and other things said by a few, give me little room for respect to those individuals.
Regards,
MG

Fair point on my delivery. However, my insensitivity stems from the fact that Fibber treats the truth like a suggestion rather than a requirement. Since his family (and mother-in-law) is currently enjoying perfectly good health, despite Fibber's creative claims to the contrary, I found it hard to play along with this fiction that Fibber is trying to create.
Major Auto Accident on I-15
Six vehicles involved.
Happened December 6th 2025
Six cars involved
Police vehicle involved.
Police vehicle impacted by a Subaru travelling at high speed that ploughed into the back of it.
Police vehicle had ‘jack knifed’ - so would need be a car plus trailer or articulated truck of some sort (MG describes it as a “six car” pile up…).
No mention of how the police driver is. A Subaru smashing into you at 70mph is liable to wipe your car out and likely kill or seriously maim you.https://www.1800law1010.com/blog/speed- ... ow%2020%25.Head-on collisions at 60 mph or more often result in fatal injuries. In many cases, survival is unlikely even in well-built, modern vehicles.
Crashes at just 40 mph can cause severe trauma — including internal injuries, broken bones, and traumatic brain injuries.
I’m guessing such a massive incident made the news.

MG 2.0, I’m sorry to read about the death of your mother in law and your wife’s accident. I hope her recovery from both goes well. Please, please, for the love of God please log off of here for a month or so. This thread is toxic as crap and no one needs or deserves that when trying to cope with so much real life adversity.

Can we reset and address the post as presented? I wasn’t sure what work Frederiksen was meant to be doing. Is there a particular claim of hers that you’d like to explore, MG?
Anatomy of a Trolling incident.

Mg responds to Limnor's post that he posted and disappeared with a passive aggressive appeal to personal circumstance. Note that 10 minutes before this he posted a lengthy disruption full of stereotypical bigotry and dishonest attacks in another thread, where apparently his personal issues had not been a factor. Clearly, the abrupt use of personal circumstance, not evident in other posts, was used to justify the post Limnor is commenting on.
Further events:
Mg's passive aggressive trolling resulted in several chaotic pages in response.
Mg's goal was to troll until he disrupted threads and turned the focus to himself. He used 1) passive aggressive techniques to mask his intent, trusting that some would respond sincerely to his disingenuity, and 2) apparent dishonesty as his personal circumstances were only invoked in threads where he needed an excuse; other threads were filled with his usual methods of projection, gross stereotyping, and attempts at condescension.
Mg's final post (12/28 3:48 pm) is an inflammatory escalation of his trolling techniques. However, it us nothing new and he has repeated this type of incident ad nauseum for decades.
Hopefully, recognizing his repeated trolling methods will allow this trolling incident to be concluded.
Let's move on.

Thanks Res Ipsa! Actually, I'm fine. I'm a pretty resilient guy. All those years of teaching and dealing with parents. I had my wife to the Wound Clinic today and her leg is wrapped up for a week in compression and she can't shower. Bummer. Hopefully what they did will help. She has a fairly significant hematoma.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 1:14 amMG 2.0, I’m sorry to read about the death of your mother in law and your wife’s accident. Don't worry about IHQ. I ignore just about everything that comes from his keyboard. I haven't directly responded to him and one or two other folks for weeks (months?) now. Life is better when I do that.
By the way, in an earlier post I said, "Thankfully, he was unharmed." The "he" I was referring to was the officer in the Dodge Durango that jackknifed into my wife's travel lane. We are so happy that he wasn't harmed as a result of the powerful impact that took place.
I manage my time, as I've said, amongst various activities and pursuits. Yesterday I ended up binge watching BBC Nightsleeper. For any that haven't seen it, it is difficult to stop watching once you start. My wife was watching a Christmas movie with her sister down the street.
Life is good. This board is just an outlet for discussion and keeping my brain somewhat intact (although the same poster you are referring to said I'm somewhat "diminished"). The world has a place for these kinds of folks. I find it interesting that this poster can be lacking so much in empathy that he is he** bound in trying to find a way around being decent about something that another human being, a woman no less, has just recently experienced and is experiencing in the moment.
Regards,
MG
P.S. just read the previous post by the other poster I will not respond to. Goes by Marcus. What lengths she will go to in order to create a false narrative. I would think she has something better to do.

Recently I suggested something along those lines and told him not to let the door hit him on the way out. But my post was intercepted by the moderator for breaking board rules:

It's an effective rhetorical trick that sometimes has unexpected effects. Especially when used with an explicit reference to forbearance.
Reminds me of some of the first missionaries I met in Scotland. They were constantly saying "Fetch [this]", "Fetch [that]", and eventually I had to ask what they were saying. I was more than a bit shocked. (Of course, back in the 70s I was even more naïve than I am now.)
