Venezuela is a crappy game of Werewolf where the White House and Congress are the werewolves and the American people are the townsfolk, except this round’s night phase happens in Caracas and the consequences are sanctions, oil politics, and regular people getting crushed. Deals get made out of sight, narratives get rolled out during the day, and everyone argues about which faction is lying while the same coordinated actors keep surviving each round. The people with the least information, us, and the least power, again us, are expected to sort truth from propaganda, while the ones who actually know what is happening signal to each other and protect their interests. It is not that the townsfolk are stupid, it is that coordination and insider knowledge beat numbers every time, and Venezuela is just the latest body announced at dawn. “F” Trump, the GOP, and the racist pieces of crap that voted for him repeatedly. They’re all garbage human beings.
