I've asked you 4 or 5 questions in this thread over the past week, please feel free to ignore if you wish. While you were on vacation, quite a bit has happened. Focus on what matters, there's no need for responses to the questions I posed last week.

I began this post because yesterday I learned you don't even possibly know Canpakes first name or anything about him. If that is indeed the case, it clarifies why he seems so immature as a moderator regarding whether your discussion board operates smoothly or descends into complete disorder! If there isn't a personal connection, even something as simple as knowing each other's first names, he has little to lose if your board encounters difficulties.

I would like to point out that in the last six months, either you or Xeno have reversed Canpake's rulings at least seven or eight times when I highlighted his moderating errors. The most recent instances include splitting a thread due to his derailment, this happened while you were on vacation, and, the decision to overturn Whiskey's two week ban. This mistake was so significant, Jersey Girl even informed Canpakes that he was incorrect for banning Whiskey and suggested that Canpakes should not be moderating a thread in which he is involved.

I have owned multiple businesses, so I am a natural problem solver. I would like to propose an idea. Ask either Whiskey or Ceeboo about their interest in joining the moderating team. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but your Mormon discussion board has increasingly taken on a political tone, and for years, the moderators have leaned progressive, which affects their ability to remain impartial in their decisions. Adding a conservative or center-right moderator into a progressive moderating team will help the smooth operation of the discussion board.

I have a suggestion to offer. If you bring Whiskey onto the team, establish a guideline that requires Canpakes to consult with Whiskey before disciplining a board member, and likewise, if Whiskey intends to moderate a board member, he must ask Canpakes approval first. If an agreement cannot be reached, the decision will be escalated to you. This shifts much of the decision making responsibility from you to the team. Having two different perspectives on the team will benefit the board, and I believe there is a strong possibility it will address many of the issues the board is currently facing.

I have spoken with Whiskey on the phone,he's a good guy, i think you feel the same, or i doubt you would have met him for a bite to eat, and I can assure you that he possesses the qualities needed to moderate fairly. He will take his responsibility seriously. I have not talked to him about this subject, so there's a chance he comes on here to tell me to shut up

Let me provide an example to show the importance of having someone like Whiskey on the moderating team. Since he knows you personally, if he were on the team, there would be no chance that Whiskey would come onto this thread and behave immaturely like Canpakes does now. This thread was initiated to pose questions to the moderators, and at times, I direct my inquiries specifically to you. However, within moments, Canpakes responds in a snarky and immature way, not affording you the opportunity to answer first, despite my request for your response. He does this because he wants a fight! I have never had Xeno answer a question i have directed at you, because Xeno is a professional. Canpakes behavior shows that he has ceased to make an effort to uphold professionalism in his role as a moderator. This thread, in my view, stands apart from others on the board. It serves the purpose of posing questions and receiving responses from a moderator in a serious tone. As a business owner, Whiskey understands when he needs to be serious and when he can be snarky. Canpakes doesn't possess that ability, he is always immature.

Take a look at what awaits you upon your return from vacation!! About five days ago, I posed a question and, as always, I was prepared to wait for your response. However, Canpakes, rather than simply letting you return from vacation to address my questions, has prolonged this thread by a dozen pages, engaging in fights with me and Whiskey, which has added considerable effort for you to sift through the last week of posts. If Canpakes were aware of your vacation and has behaved in such a manner during your absence, it’s clear that the team requires someone who can demonstrate responsibility. Returning from vacation only to face 100 pages of text, with one of your moderators being a primary instigator and adding more work to your plate, must be incredibly frustrating and highlights Canpakes lack of moderation skills. Shades!!! When you are on vacation, your moderator team should be on their best behavior. That way when you come back from vacation, you're not overwhelmed with pages and pages of text to sort through. All Canpakes had to do is calm down for the time you were gone, but instead, it's as if the time you were on vacation, he ramped up his board activity. Instigating and provoking.

Please consider adding someone to the team that can counter balance the progressivness. You or Xeno have had to moderate Canpakes more in the past six months than anyone else on the board. It's time for a change.

And the Hound account wants it done by adding a volatile, viciously mean-spirited, name-calling poster to the moderator board who has committed and has been moderated to the point of repeated suspensions for dozens, if not hundreds of rule violations in his iterations as Whiskey, Binger, Cultellus and others.

Yes. I rather have Whiskey moderate than someone like you that is volatile, viciously mean spirited, that constantly follows posters you don't like around the board, constantly nagging them. I rather have Whiskey, someone who has had multiple accounts, and not you, someone else that has also had multiple accounts, like Lem, lemmie and now Marcus. Did I miss any .

I think I read on here that at some point you have been a moderator on a discussion board, and if that is true, then that means anyone can be a moderator, because you are one of the dumbest individuals i have ever encountered on the internet in my life. Well, besides Canpakes

Right now Shades has one moderator, Xeno that post his pronouns at the bottom of his page, a moderator, Res Ipsa that just quit, but also posted his pronouns, and a moderator named Canpakes that doesn't know his pronouns, and likes to use the women's restroom, so what im saying is, Shades has been surrounded by progressive moderators that have basically destroyed his board.

They try to convince him that they are smart, but like everything progressives get their hands on, they destroy his board. Basically, Shades is surrounded by fxxxin idiots!

Shades, while people have discussed politics on this board for years, the board was actually politicized by Atlanticmike and ME/Cultellus/Binger/Whiskey. I think that politicizing the board even further by instituting DEI for conservatives, specifically for the most prolific rule breaker in the history of MD, would likely kill the board. Shades has based moderator nominations on the person’s behavior on the board, which automatically disqualifies ME/Cultellus/Binger/Whiskey from the position. Over the course of thousands of posts, he has displayed nothing but contempt for the minimal rule set Shades has devised in order to provide us with a forum where we can speak our minds.

Shades, at one time you stepped down as head moderator, releasing the mod team from the clone of Shades requirement. Did you ever reverse that decision? (I was away from the board for several months and could have missed it.) If you are considering changing the mod team, I suggest that you consider reversing that decision.

I also think that you should consider adding a moderator. When I stepped down, ME/C/B/W had been absent for a while and there was no need for a third. With his return, he’s easily swamped the capacity of the team to keep up with his obsessive rule violations. His unwillingness to follow the rules means you need additional moderators just to babysit him. But assess qualifications as you have done in the past rather than appoint someone based on political correctness.

Finally, on this board, ME/C/B/W is not a good guy. He is a toxic narcissist. He has the least amount of standing of anyone here to make demands on you and Xeno. He’ll be charming as hell as long as he thinks he can get what he wants out of you. Cross him, and he unleashes a torrent of abuse. in my opinion, the correct response to his demands is “see you tomorrow” and “no, we’re preserving your record for when you come back tomorrow.” No one has the right to wreak havoc on the board for months or years at a time, only to have his slate wiped clean when he returns for another round.

This post, which is so typical of the HOH posts I have read, should disqualify him from serious consideration in terms of board governance. Like his predecessor in Spirit, Atlanticmike, his sole interest is in waging political war. He doesn’t give a crash about this board or free speech. He just wants to shut down speech he doesn’t like through insult and abuse. He cares only about waging his culture war and not about smooth operation of the board. His performative sucking up is embarrassingly transparent.
