Even better than that, GadiSCAMton doesn't hold as much sway over Shades as he used to. It was just a few months ago he was all giddy thinking he had the inside track to Shades, he threatened Whiskey, saying he was going to get him kicked off the board immediately. Yeah, that never happened!

You know what’s weird? Self-styled conservatives who talk about personal responsibility, but always blame their bad behavior on someone else.

Would you mind giving your opinion on the matter? Because just a few days ago while Shades was on vacation, you told Whiskey that you would do whatever you want. Sounds to me like you are disobeying a direct order. Didn't Shades tell you not to moderate any thread you are participating in?

Anyhow, have you found that list of bad moderator actions wielded against Ceebs, MG or Whiskey? The board’s proprietor may need to see it if you want him to initiate your DEI for Conservatives program or that safe space that you and Whiskey keep asking for.

‘Arguing’ in, is the phrase used. I hold to that but if you or Whiskey were to blatantly break a board rule then I would consider that the Board comes first.

As example, if you doxxed someone participating in a thread that I was also participating in, I wouldn’t wait around for action to be taken by another moderator or Shades. You would agree with that, too.

Shades, at one time you stepped down as head moderator, releasing the mod team from the clone of Shades requirement. Did you ever reverse that decision? (I was away from the board for several months and could have missed it.) If you are considering changing the mod team, I suggest that you consider reversing that decision.

However, I don’t believe that any of us deviated from the primary goal of emulating Shades. We’d had so many discussions wherein the guidelines for decisions were firmly grounded in ‘What Would Shades Do?”. It worked surprisingly well to rely on the existing rule set and modifications were not often needed, although all modifications were driven by the actions of AtlanticMike (now Hound) and Cuktellus/Binger (now Whiskey).

I also think that you should consider adding a moderator. When I stepped down, ME/C/B/W had been absent for a while and there was no need for a third. With his return, he’s easily swamped the capacity of the team to keep up with his obsessive rule violations. His unwillingness to follow the rules means you need additional moderators just to babysit him. But assess qualifications as you have done in the past rather than appoint someone based on political correctness.

My personal take is that Hound’s proposition hasn’t been thought through by him or Whiskey to any real extent. I predict that both the Whiskey and Hound accounts would find the outcome to be much less satisfying than expected, and much more frustrating. Neither account has proven to be able to handle stress or conflict with any degree of grace or common sense, and with new exposure to an expanded amount of triggers the fallout would be spectacular. To be honest, I don’t even think that the proposition is serious, given that the history of both accounts shows little more than a propensity (if not a need) to provoke.

As I noted upstream, Whiskey isn’t here in this thread because I chased him down, grabbed him by the ear and dragged him in here to post. Neither is the Hound account. They’re here because they value conflict above all else and relish in stoking it with a ‘flood the zone’ mentality as the goal.

Finally, on this board, ME/C/B/W is not a good guy. He is a toxic narcissist. He has the least amount of standing of anyone here to make demands on you and Xeno. He’ll be charming as hell as long as he thinks he can get what he wants out of you. Cross him, and he unleashes a torrent of abuse. in my opinion, the correct response to his demands is “see you tomorrow” and “no, we’re preserving your record for when you come back tomorrow.” No one has the right to wreak havoc on the board for months or years at a time, only to have his slate wiped clean when he returns for another round.
