With the crisp choreography, angelic faces, the perfect hair, blindingly white teeth and wearing a whole lot of American Eagle,
Vocal Point represents the very best of BYU. But they’re also Provo’s worst kept secret, as it’s widely understood that many, if not most, members of the group are gay. Now, they’re back in the spotlight for something other than their famous high notes. Word on CougarBoard and Reddit is that their latest video was recently sent back to the editing room for being, to put it delicately, a bit too fabulous for BYU.
This isn't exactly a plot twist. There has been a steady stream of
Vocal Point alumni's coming out stories and even betting pools on CougarBoard dedicated to choosing who will be the next member to leave the closet. Performing for an institution that requires you to re-edit your identity can’t be easy on the soul.
