Hi,

I would like to know why Mormons don't believe in a literal lake of fire?

Thanks.
I'm an exMormon and do not believe in a literal lake of fire as a form of punishment or banishment. Neither do I believe in animals or a literal Christ-man who was sacrificed for sins. Slitting animal throats and hammering nails into human flesh for the forgiveness of sins is not my cup of tea. No thanks.

Why? Because the concept of the lake of fire as taught in the Christian cult is disgusting and evil. It reminds me of Hitler.

In Revelation it says that those who are not found in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire where the smoke of their torment shall rise up forever and ever.
It also says Jesus is coming back. He is not coming back, ever.

Also, what happens to the devil?
There is no such thing as the devil as defined by the Christian cult and Bible. It's all a lie.

If people have the opportunity to repent after death then it means everyone is going to heaven.
That sound just fine to me.

Not if there’s an inversion.

What happens to people like Adolf Hitler
There's good evidence that he confessed Jesus before death so he's in heaven.
I guess we will find out one day.

Why does it have to be literal?

If there is no lake of fire, then the death on the cross is nullified. What happens to people like Adolf Hitler, Paul Pot, Stalin, Kim Jong Il?

Also, what happens to the devil?
This is a shallow view of the death of Christ. If Adolf is not destroyed he will find himself small lost and alone.

There are different pictures Christians create. Mormons see the devil in outer darkness.

Have you asked the missionaries? Have you approached someone from FAIRLDS? What research have you done up to this point?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

The death on the cross is the Christian way of making a sacrifice even more grand than that of Moses's and it's all for nothing. Nobody need die for another's so-called sins.

Back in the ether they are and they recycle as souls in other worlds until they learn their lessons and choose the way of love and forgiveness which they will eventually.

There is no devil. It's all a scare tactic to keep people in the Christian cult.
