Nice. Can't say I disagree with anything he said.
Then why do you post under a pseudonym? If you agree with him that using a pseudonym on a message boards amounts to being an “anonymous coward” do you agree that you are an “anonymous coward”? Or do you wish to revise your claim (again, after noting that you don’t agree with his assertion that Midgely is deceased) that you cannot disagree with anything he said?
Bump. Thanks in anticipation.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

A reminder. I will not engage with the two previous posters. Their track record will not allow me to spend time with them. There is nothing productive that comes of it.

They will do what they do.

I will continue to periodically enter into discussions as I did yesterday when I can see that there is something to add.

I will not spin around in circles playing games with those that simply have a vendetta to carry out based upon past grievances.

I'll have to hand it to ya'...you guys are pretty good at what you do. Kudos.

A while back I compared this strategy to distributing and/or firing off chaff and/or flak to act as a distraction with the hope of destroying and/or sidestepping the 'enemy'. I've seen/experienced this process/methodology time after time, year after year. The challenge is when the chaff/flak is coming from multiple sources hot and heavy and all at one time the 'enemy' really doesn't have much of a chance at completing a mission. Simply being able to have a constructive and honest conversation.

The incoming/outgoing decoys/explosions are overwhelming.

It is what it is. And it is so obvious to an objective observer...of which we have very few around here.

Incoming!!

Bumping for MG as he is yet to explain his seemingly hypocritical statement.

I've referenced Simon and Garfunkel recently. Let's switch to Carly Simon.

It seems as though the word of the week...and possibly into the future...is "Anticipation".

Now I can't get that song out of my mind. Fortunately, it's one of the all-time greatest hits. Not a bad song to have floating around. :D

I expect to receive that prompt again...and again. Not gonna bite. ;)

Some people just keep on keepin' on. They never let up. Kids. They just have one question after another.

I thought I retired from that!

There seems to be a practice, by one or two individuals here, that if they can just keep coming back and ask one question after another that somehow gives them the 'upper hand'. I don't think it does. I think it simply shows evasiveness and failure to connect with the substance of a conversation. Sort of a derail, one might say.

Again, not gonna' fall for it. For one thing, it saves me a LOT of time. I've learned in times past that some folks are NEVER satisfied. So why put forth wasted effort? I'm a slow learner...but I've learned this simple truth the hard way. Life is so much better when I'm talking with someone that I think is actually serious and not playing grade school games of Gotcha!!

Is self-defense against false assertions/innuendo a derailment? I think that moderators ought to be very careful as to who they are listening to and what precedents they might be pressured into setting/implementing.

The powerful will try to destroy the weak...in other words, the many will try to overcome with flak/chaff...so as to dogpile, on those that have little chance of answering and/or responding to every attack or false assertions/innuendo that are made by certain posters.

Moderators will naturally be tempted and/or feel pressured to respond affirmatively to the screams and wailings of the few 'squeaky wheels'. They typically get greased while the 'innocent' end up getting greased out and erased.

Cancel culture is alive and well, albeit by a few disgruntled people with a vendetta to carry out worlds without end. Truthfully, I don't know why they are allowed to get away with it.

But it is what it is. Afterall, this is not a board that fulfills the mission of its original purpose. It has become something else. I think that is why some of the folks that used to be regulars do not participate as much anymore.

And that is a loss.

It is quite interesting...and always has been to me on this board...that certain posters are OVERLY active in asking questions but rather shy about answering questions. Usually just some sort of a short 'fill in' response. Evasive. Ignorant.

That is one reason I have discontinued answering questions that then go unrequited.

I can see that sooner rather than later we may end up in a situation where some folks want to talk in circles. That isn't interesting enough for me to spend time doing.
