I do think it is reasonable to assume that the Abrahamic deity has the power, if he wishes, to address the entire human race, each in their own language, if he has an important message that he wishes to have conveyed to the whole human race. The idea that he would just pick one person to confide in, and then hope the message would get through to everybody, suggests a very un-omnipotent and unintelligent deity indeed.

That sounds very reasonable to me!
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
One possible solution for the Arab Israeli conflict is :
1. Get the IDF to hand out gospel tracts in Arabic to Palestinians.
2. Implement conversion therapy in the hospitals.
3. Shut down Hollywood and Walt Disney.

Before you posted this idea you would have done well to check how many Christians there are in those areas as well as how many Christian missionaries there are.
There are Christians and Christian missionaries in Israel as well.

Here's a quick thing for you to read. I haven't read it myself. It may/may not mention Cyrus the Great, the Persian king who released the Jews and aided in building their Temple.
So if you want to look back to the Old Testament, seems like Israel forgot about that.
When you are passing judgment on the Middle East, do you also consider that God will pass judgment on Israel for what is currently happening there?
