At the time I write this, Victor Orban has conceded that he has lost the election in Hungary, after 16 years of trying to construct an 'illiberal democracy" allegedly based on his versions of Christianity, and in reality corrupt to the core as he, his family and friends sucked the country dry.
Trump backed Orban enthusiastically. Trump even sent Vance during the election to show US support for Orban, while complaining that European countries were interfering in Hungarian politics [??!!].
Orban's opponent Magyar is already winning overwhelmingly on the votes so far counted, and it seems highly likely that when all the votes are counted he will have a 2/3 majority. That will enable him to undo the gerrymandering constitutional changes that Orban made to try to guarantee he could never be voted out.
On to the mid-terms ... Trump will of course say that he never knew Orban, thought he was a weak guy and a loser, and so on and so forth. But he must be worrying that the writing is on the wall. Time for another war?
