Romans 1:26

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
I understand where you are coming from in light of scripture. What I want to know is how would you gather up lgbtq folks, divide them up by:

Practicing
Non-practicing
Christian
Non-Christian

How would you suggest that happen?

This was Paul processing his natural sexual attraction to Tertius. He was trying to make sense of his sexuality in a world that wasn’t enlightened. He hated himself for it and that comes out in his personal blog/opinion piece, now referred to as “Romans”.

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

How do you know he was silver tongued?
Well educated, articulate, literate. That sort of thing. The proof for that is in his writings.

Quantum I thought it wise to tell you a bit about myself, religiously speaking.

I am a Bible believing Christian. Strayed from the path in teens/early twenties, then back on again and stayed there. I no longer participate in organized religion on a regular basis. I do attend a Lutheran Church with my husband from time to time and have been to a variety of houses of worship mainly to support friends who were grieving.

Working on self control in the areas of patience and swearing.

I'm happy to see you here. There's not many God believers in this community. I've been on boards like these forever. I consider most folks here to be my friends and acquaintences in discussion. Speaking only for myself I dislike it when people don't answer my questions. I think the rest of the posters here dislike the same thing.

I think you're doing a good job of it so far. :)

What is your evidence for that claim?

To Jersey Girl :

Ok so are you from Scotland?

There are interesting people on this forum but because of the times that we live in, people are questioning the authenticity of the Bible. The fundamental teachings of morality and ethics are being questioned.

I am a big believer in healing and deliverance. I also believe that the prosperity preachers in the USA need to be exposed. There is so much poverty and suffering. Jesus is coming back soon.

It’s the text itself. Romans was a close collaboration between Paul and Tertius. Two single men, working closely on a collaborative writing down of Paul’s views on life, and they are drawn to write about sexual attraction between men. I’m simply joining the dots.

No sir, but my people are. I'm from New Jersey (USA) now living in Colorado. My great grandmother born in Scotland immigrated to the US with her 4 children from Paisley, through Glasgow and into Ellis Island. Her mother was already in the US in New Jersey. My grandmother was born in Lanarkshire. My mother was her child. My sister and I traveled to Scotland before pandemic. We met with relatives (Paisley) there who took us to every address I had where my great grandmother lived including a visit to Rowallan Castle home of the Muirs (now a golf and event venue). I left a piece of jewerly (ring) from my mother in the River Clyde. Sister and I took the bus to Edinburgh where our great grandmother worked as a housekeeper. One day in Edinburgh wasn't enough. We hope to return.

My father was German and Irish...I didn't know his family at all, so my early influences were all Scots who came over on the Caledonia to Ellis Island.

Before our trip I took online classes through the University of Strathclyde about Scottish genealogy and history of the clans.

There are at least two natural born Scots on this board. Malkie and IWMP. :) Nightlion who has since passed on, was a distant cousin of mine.

I think there have been doubters going back generations, Quantum.
The fundamental teachings of morality and ethics are being questioned.
I agree with you 100%. Though again, I think the debate started generations ago.
I am a big believer in healing and deliverance.
Me too!
I also believe that the prosperity preachers in the USA need to be exposed.
They are theives peddling a "feel good" gospel that has nothing to do with the Gospels.
There is so much poverty and suffering.
I think that if Christians were really living according to the teachings of Christ there would be no poverty, suffering, or homelessness anywhere in the world. The Adversary wants nothing more than to cause fear, doubt, distraction, and destruction in us.
Jesus is coming back soon.
Not soon enough for me!
