Sheol and Hades is the temporary holding place for the damned.
According to Revelation 20:14 in the Bible (KJV), "death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death

Yup. You can't cite chapter and verse. You look like an ignorant troll.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
Mayan Elephant:
Not only have I denounced the Big Lie, I have denounced the Big lie big lie.

After he was asked to back up his assertion that slavery was abolished in the New Testament he pivoted to:
Ok, so you’re a troll, got it.Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 5:30 pmIt is better to be ready for the judgement after you die then to be cast into hell.
Hell is a place of unthinkable suffering.

You mean “the personal opinions of an Iron Age blogger called Paul, and his close male companion Tertius, was that - death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and that a second death“Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 8:00 pmSheol and Hades is the temporary holding place for the damned.

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Huh, I suppose Tertius might’ve been a different kind of slave …I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 1:15 pmYou mean “the personal opinions of an Iron Age blogger called Paul, and his close male companion Tertius, was that - death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and that a second death“Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 8:00 pmSheol and Hades is the temporary holding place for the damned.

You know how Grindr crashes every time MAGA or the GOP has a convention? Well, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least that homosexuals always found cover and camouflage in religious movements. We already know that seminaries, monasteries, churches, and Protestant whatever were and are rife with that sort of thing.

Not sure I see the connection between Paul and Revelations.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 1:15 pmYou mean “the personal opinions of an Iron Age blogger called Paul, and his close male companion Tertius, was that - death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and that a second death“Quantum1982 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2026 8:00 pmSheol and Hades is the temporary holding place for the damned.

Well Paul authored a group of statements so could more easily be called blogger unlike whoever created revelations.
.....
Adding ironage blogger is a colorful moderate put down. I like Paul even if I think people can question him so I incline to point out that iron Age ended some five hundred years before Paul.
Classical antiquity was a time when iron Age ideas were questioned and ideas still influencing the modern world took shape. We are much closer to Paul than those iron Age folks who put the Torah laws together.
I think Paul's struggle with the flesh refers to broader and deeper problems than human conflicts over sexual desire. How to deal with sexual desire is part of the human problem of course.

Sorry, that’s my bad. Got Paul and John mixed up. That’s a fair description of what they were. Iron Age bloggers......

You don’t know Paul any more than you know, say, Tom Clancy. You only know that you like what he wrote. And you don’t know how much of that is fact or fiction.I like Paul even if I think people can question him so I incline to point out that iron Age ended some five hundred years before Paul.
Can you demonstrate that assertion of fact?Classical antiquity was a time when iron Age ideas were questioned and ideas still influencing the modern world took shape. We are much closer to Paul than those iron Age folks who put the Torah laws together.
I think it reads like Paul verbalising his same sex struggles in very much the way devout Mormons today might talk about it as a way of social signalling and hiding their proclivity.I think Paul's struggle with the flesh refers to broader and deeper problems than human conflicts over sexual desire. How to deal with sexual desire is part of the human problem of course.

Yes. And those same Priests were up there on Sundays preaching against the sins of homosexuality etc. Just like Paul.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 3:26 pmHuh, I suppose Tertius might’ve been a different kind of slave …I Have Questions wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 1:15 pmYou mean “the personal opinions of an Iron Age blogger called Paul, and his close male companion Tertius, was that - death and hell were cast into the lake of fire and that a second death“

You are looking for excuses to point the finger at those who preached the truth in an area of horrific immorality.
Paul made sacrifices for the sake of the kingdom and now you are pointing your finger at him?
You need to deal with your own blasphemous attitudes.
Jesus is coming back soon to judge. I would get ready if I were you.
