We've already gotten messages posted that ticket holders should arrive 2 hours early, expect TSA levels of checking before entry, and a strict NO BAGS policy. I'm guessing the street watch parties they've been holding near the Garden will also be severely interrupted. And yes, there will be much booing.

True, true, but I don't mind answering. Shades, "knick" is the shortened name for "knick-knack". Very infrequently, the largest trade show for knick-knacks is held at Madison Square Garden, which is a quaint, old-school bodega-turned-garden, nestled in a quiet side street in New York City. Legend has it that Betsey Ross wanted to bedazzle her sewing efforts but the MS Garden was unable to properly supply her needs. Her final project was just sewn, sadly.

The last time our tiny spot was used for this purpose was in 1999. It was a fiasco then, but we are better prepared this time, I hope. Our fund-raising efforts have secured several thousands of dollars, which will buy, possibly, one entry to the show! [But probably not. : (( ]

You can also buy yarn, art supplies, sewing notions and hot dogs there, but if you plan to shop today, don't bring your own shopping bags, as they won't be allowed no matter how delightfully they are hand-decorated. However, for this week only a sister-garden will open at Bryant Park, where you may be able to see several of our best knick-knacks on a large display. Bring bug spray, as certain orange pests have declared open season on our little town this week.
