He believes in another set of ancient writings. “The Book of the Nem”. He doesn’t believe Joseph Smith was a polygamist. He sells an oracle app to help motivate people toward spirituality. He travels around giving people blessings to heal them and cast out spirits.

He's doing what I did once I got a divorce. I had to PROVE to God I was faithful and a good, believing LDS person, so how better than to defend the faith? Hence apologetics was the perfect fit. It actually exhausted me of it all. I'd much rather pan gold than read the Book of Mormon these days.

I don’t see the connection between the two. How does a divorce disqualify you as a faithful and a good, believing LDS person, and how can you prove something to God that He already knows?
