Do any Mormons/LDS attend other denominations' services?
How many of the LDS here have ever attend services of other "denominations"?

May I ask what type or types of church/churches? And which was your favorite experience? Thank you for your response.

Various denominations of Christianity, to include Catholicism and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’d say the latter in their kingdom hall was my favorite because they were all so polite.LittleNipper wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2026 10:24 amMay I ask what type or types of church/churches? Yes, I have found JW's to be very polite. I don't know if I appreciate their service ---- if one could call it that. It's seems to be more of a Watch Tower Magazine study. Everything seems to be highly regulated around their literature study.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2026 12:22 pmVarious denominations of Christianity, to include Catholicism and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I've been to Catholic wedding and a funeral ---- fortunately they seemed a little more open.

I’ve never been LDS. I’ve attended the Catholic Church with friends and family (mass, funerals, wedding, and infant baptism), Lutheran, Kingdom Hall once, several wards and one stake conference, Church of God once, and have been a member of the United Methodist Church (raised in this church), Southern Baptist, and Presbyterian Church in America. That is all I can think of.

Thank you for your reply. Which ones did you like best? Which seemed real and not a show? What turned you on or off regarding each?msnobody wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2026 2:29 amI’ve never been LDS. When I was working in Manhattan and still technically on the lds rolls, my TBM sibling visited. I took them to see the Cathedral of st John the Divine, a place I found extraordinarily beautiful and peaceful. Upon entry, my TBM sil announced, extremely loudly, "YOU CAN JUST FEEL THE SPIRIT OF SATAN IN HERE."LittleNipper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 8:35 pmHow many of the LDS here have ever attend services of other "denominations"?
I hustled them out immediately, and never again took a tbm relative into such a space. My advice would be to not expose the world to such tbm prejudice if at all possible.

Re: Do any Mormons/LDS attend other denomination's services?
Now that msnobody entered the thread, I'll comment as well since I've never been LDS. I guess I'd describe myself as Protestant or Mainstream Christian whose growing up church was a non-denominational community church that I loved so much. The childhood friends I went to that church with are still my friends today. That's a very long time.
I'll list the other denominations I've attended. I currently do not participate in organized religion on a regular basis.
Presbyterian Church (infant baptism)
Non-denominational community church (Protestant, several years, youth baptized)
Protestant services on military bases.
Catholic services on military bases.
Greek Orthodox Church
Roman Catholic Church
Presbyterian Church Funeral
Southern Baptist Church ( about 10 years and left for "reasons")
Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod)
Hindu Funeral Service
LDS Baptism
LDS gatherings (Road Show, Christmas Village, Talent Show)
LDS Girl's Activity
Helped train LDS Boy Scouts in outdoor skills
Little Church of the West Las Vegas
Mega Church Celebration of Life
Cowboy Church Funeral
Funeral Home Service
I noticed that you asked msnobody which was her favorite. My personal favorite (besides my growing up church) so far would be Cowboy Church, no contest!
In the future I would like to attend a Black Gospel Church and Jewish Services.

ETA: I just noticed how long my list was. Something is obviously wrong with me. Or...right.
