I think the top of the cane had a receptacle with Joseph's hair in it.Gadianton wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 2:32 amA fancy one, along with a monocle, could also be used to to signal social status or authority. Brigham Young himself walked with a cane made from the wood of Joseph's coffin. So to me it's plausible largely based on a desire to bill oneself as important.Doctor Scratch wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 2:25 amCanes aren’t necessarily used only for medical reasons. They can be decorative, such as in the case of Mr. Peanut. I can’t help but wonder why the Afore seemingly takes such issue with the idea of using a cane.
side note: canes can also be used in a threatening manner.

I'm afraid you have misinterpreted what Doctor Everybody Wang Chung originally posted and have misjudged his careful wording. So also, has Peterson misjudged. Wang-baby was speaking in future tense and more or less prophesying® that Peterson will eventually need a cane to steady his oversized frame from falling over during future Bowdlerizing Brigham videos in which everyone would holler loudly and laugh at the tumbling fat man!I Have Questions wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2026 6:48 amI’m with Peterson on this one. Posting a comment about seeing Peterson using a cane, when it transpired he didn’t do any such thing, is lying to the board. I don’t think that’s right. Parody and spoof, fine. But make it clear that it’s parody or spoof.
Is there something I've missed? Please correct me if I'm wrong; I've not been following the other thread.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 8:37 pmWhen DCP soon succumbs to diabetes, heart disease, or one of the many obesity-related cancers, after a life of treating his mortal body like a punching bag and looking like death warmed over, even having to rely on a cane just to walk around in his Bowdlerizing Brigham videos, we should all honor his memory appropriately.

Thanks for that Shulem, I think I see your point, and my error.Shulem wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 7:11 pmI'm afraid you have misinterpreted what Doctor Everybody Wang Chung originally posted and have misjudged his careful wording. Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

No problem, I just wanted to make sure that we are all on the same sheet of music. I make mistakes all the time.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 9:42 pmThanks for that Shulem, I think I see your point, and my error.
Woohoo! I love compliments!
The fat man knows the end is near. Brother Wang's prophecy will be fulfilled -- I so testify in the name of Mormon Jesus!Peterson wrote:The rules are simple: Anybody who locates a photograph or a segment in the currently extant installments of Becoming Brigham (i.e., in episodes 1-29) in which I’m shown relying on a cane will receive free lifetime online subscriptions both to Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship and to Becoming Brigham.
Peterson was careful to word the rules to allow him use of a cane in the foreseeable future as he gets fatter and fatter and a cane becomes necessary to prop him up.
He will have a cane "soon" enough.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
Fat Dan tramples on the grave of former President Heber J. Grant and makes a mockery of his prophetic memory. The President of the Church was moved upon by the power of the Holy Ghost to thank God for the knowledge of knowing horses were indeed around during Book of Mormon times and how God has provided the necessary *proof* so faith in no longer a requirement in that regard:Doctor Scratch wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2026 4:14 amIs it okay to claim that there were Nephite horses without actual evidence?
President Heber J. Grant, 1935 Dedicatory Prayer for the Angel Moroni Monument at Cumorah wrote:We are grateful that the ridicule of that part of the Book of Mormon which says that there were horses upon this continent has been satisfactorily answered. It was thought that because there were no horses to be found here when Columbus arrived, that statement was untrue, but skeletons of horses and other animals have been dug out of the oil wells in California.
Can Interpreter answers those lies?Joe Blow Smith wrote:Fig. 2. King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head.
Fig. 4. Prince of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, as written above the hand.
Fig. 6. Olimlah, a slave belonging to the prince.
Nope.
The whole world is laughing at the Mormons and their idiot scholars!

Now THAT is funny!

You can do that in the temple now!
