White Professor STUNS Trump Supporters With a History Lesson They Didn't Expect
A White professor has sparked outrage after delivering a powerful warning to Donald Trump while exposing a part of American history that many people say has been ignored or misunderstood. His comments quickly ignited debate across social media, with supporters praising his honesty and critics accusing him of attacking his own community. In this video, we break down what the professor said, why his message is making headlines, how it connects to America's racial history, and why so many people believe this conversation matters today. If you're interested in Donald Trump news, American history, Black history, race relations, political commentary, culture, and the biggest stories shaping today's national debate, watch until the end and join the discussion. What do you think about the professor's warning, and do you agree with his view of America's history?
The most damning point the professor made is valid if you know your history. He said that almost the entire history of U.S. history consisted of Rich White men protecting their wealth and privilege by telling not rich White men that their problems and low economic status were somehow the fault of equally disadvantaged Blacks and other minorities, to prevent them from uniting in the realization of and opposition to the fact that the real enemy of both groups were the very rich White men who were ruthlessly exploiting all of them.

The narrative was that the evil blacks and minorities were trying to take all their jobs from them, which really made no sense in the light of the fact that Blacks and minorities were as much as 50% more likely to be unemployed than equally qualified White males.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

I've been saying for a while that if you think immigrants, the least powerful people in American society, are screwing you over economically, you're dumb enough to vote for Trump.

"Almost the entire history..."

The observation being made does refer to some realities. It was sort of a cliché in 60s. Bob Dylan made a song about it and he was not finding new understanding but singing the well known.

I really do not think it safe to live in a world understanding consisting only of that narrow image. It leaves out large dimensions of American reality.

My comment above was reacting to the summary without hearing the presentation. Short time I listened to portions, it has more valuable observations.

The way immigrants can take local people's jobs is by accepting lower wages for the same work. That actually is a real possibility. What I don't understand is why rich guys would be pointing this out in order to excite anger against the immigrants. Wouldn't the rich guys be only too happy to have those local jobs stolen by immigrants? They'd lower their labor costs.

What makes sense to me is for some rich guys to be happily firing local workers to hire immigrants who work for less, and keeping quiet about it. Then there could be other rich guys, with businesses competing with the first guys', who are for some reason unwilling or unable to do the same and also lower their wage costs by hiring immigrants. For the second group of rich guys, the immigrants working for less for their competitors are a threat. The rival businesses with lower wage costs can afford to lower prices a bit and take the whole market.

So this second group would have a clear incentive to denounce these low-wage immigrants as job stealers, trying to drive the immigrants out of the country or at least stop them from getting jobs. The question is why this hypothetical second rich group isn't just like the first group, happily cutting its wage costs.

It could be that the second type of rich guys are racists themselves, and just don't want to hire immigrants. Or it could be that these rich guys have too many racist workers to replace all of them, and that they can't afford to antagonise their racist other workers by hiring immigrants.

Maybe it could also somehow be that there are businesses that cannot replace workers with immigrants, for practical reasons other than racism, but which nonetheless face competition from businesses that can hire immigrants. If this were common, then it would really explain why there would always have been rich guys preaching to poor workers about job-stealing immigrants—even while, and precisely because, other rich guys were hiring the immigrants.

For example, there could be competing businesses that use different production methods to deliver similar products. Maybe one type of production requires highly skilled and experienced workers, while the other can use unskilled labor. It could be that the first method produces higher-quality goods, but charges more for them. It keeps its share of the market, in spite of its higher price point, because its higher level of quality is worth the higher cost. If the already low wages of the less-skilled method fall even further, because the unskilled local workers are replaced with immigrants who do the same work for less, then the lower-priced goods become priced even lower, and the more expensive products lose market share.

Perhaps that could indeed be a common situation. The rich owners of high-end artisanal producers would be keen to get the unskilled assembly line workers of their low-end rivals to riot against immigrants who would make the assembly line products even cheaper.

Yeah, I really think it's more about rich guys keeping their workers' attention on anything but the fact that they are being exploited by rich guys. "Immigrants stealing jobs" is as good a distraction as any.

I put nothing past the rich guys except to act against their own interests. They have an interest in hiring cheap labor. Why would they deliberately cut off their own gravy train?

There can be reasons why rich guys preach against immigrants, but they take some understanding. It’s important to know your enemy.

I'm glad you agree that the video made valuable observations. Remember I said "almost"-- not that the actual entire history of the U.S. could be characterized that way. But I'm sure you agree that that the ruthless exploitation of the disadvantaged, especially minorities, by avaricious White, extremely wealthy White men who were unabashedly racist and misogynistic has been a very strong, persistent and dark thread running through our history, from the from the very beginning, despite the good and noble intentions of the most admirable of our nation's founders. I'm sure this was made obvious to you if you watched the whole video. On the other hand, it is also true that the most persistent and effective opponents of that evil thread were also White. Otherwise, I don't think it would ever have become possible for Barack Obama to be elected President.

Certainly, not all White men were conscious participants in that evil thread, and Whites were not the only ones scamming and exploiting the disadvantaged and downtrodden, but Whites were always in the majority, and the worst perpetrators systematically took advantage of that. And it must also be admitted that it is not only White Christians who ever claim the God-given right to ruthlessly dominate and discriminate against other groups whenever they are in the majority or in power.

And there are other persistent, irrational and damaging threads in sizeable segments of American society, such as anti-intellectualism and anti-science.

Well, I imagine some of them are actually dumb enough to believe their own propaganda.

But my biggest suspicion is that the cost of slightly more expensive labor (white people) is nothing compared to how much rich guys stand to lose if Americans woke up and realized we let certain people get too rich. It's not good for society or the economy. The screw-ups need to be taxed hard, but the current narrative in this country prevents us from taking care of ourselves.

Americans have been talked into thinking idiotic thoughts.

I think that fear is the rich guys' goal, and not distraction or hatred.

The rich guys don't actually want their native-born workers to hate immigrants, because hate in itself doesn't bring anything for the rich guys. Inciting a pogrom that gets rid of immigrants is the last the rich guys can want, in fact, because that would tend to raise wages.

And I don't think the rich guys can really just be using the immigrants as a distraction, either, because it's just too obvious that whenever an immigrant steals a job, it's the rich guy firing the old worker and hiring the immigrant. Rich people don't try to distract workers with the threat of immigrant job theft any more than pickpockets try to distract you by calling your attention to their own thieving hands. The criminal who deliberately draws your attention to the criminal's own hands is the mugger who threaten you with a knife.

What the rich guys want is for their workers to fear competition from immigrants, to feel that if they asked for more pay then they'd just lose their job to an immigrant, because an immigrant is already on the verge of stealing the scant wage they have. Warning about how those immigrants will somehow steal jobs, rather than openly saying, "I will replace you with an immigrant if you strike," is like the mob guys telling you how awful it is that your neighbor's shop got firebombed, and what a shame it would be if something happened to yours. The threat is only implicit, but clear.

I think the rich guys are trying to stoke fear, not to distract or incite. Hatred of immigrants, and any excessive attention on how job "theft" would actually work, are simply side effects that can be tolerated as long as they don't outweigh the fear.
