Look, I had bishops pressure me to narc on people. I knew of professors sending their minions to spy on their colleagues at BYU. We currently have Dr. Peterson monitoring this board for thought and speech crimes so he can ridicule us for differing with his opinion. Notice, I did not attack Dr. Peterson. I referred to my personal experience with the panopticon of an LDS ward or an LDS university, and now I am the target of his misprision and disdain.

AND.....AND, Peterson's BEST FRIEND, Lou the Midgley ALSO went through all that silly crap that happened at BYU, so I am more than sure Peterson is well aware that that is the modus operandi of Mormons., His pretending it doesn't exist isn't even yet in the class of lying Donald Trump uses. Keep try Dan, some year you may be as great as the Donald at pretending something is "Fake News."

Why? That was a compliment. You're too intelligent to really believe that the only reason to respond to a public figure is hoping to get a one-on-one dialog going. You're also too intelligent to really believe that calling a public figure on the phone to ask questions that they aren't responding to from another forum is a good idea or has a chance of working.

Maybe you haven't figured this out yet, but the particular exmormons that post to this board view Daniel Peterson as Satan himself. 25% of the post on this forum are about him. I have tried and I am still trying to figure it out, but not one board member here has given me a good explanation as to why they obsess over Peterson.

Let's be for real!! If the board members here are as intelligent as they like to tell us they are, collectively they could come up with a well planned out scenario where they attempt to make the Terrestrial forum into an inviting place Peterson feels like he can post without being torn apart by the handful of board members that are literally obsessed with his writings and actions.

But here's an image to visually show you how the board members here see and feel about Peterson! It's not just an obsession they have with this man! They have collectively turned him into their very own Satan. And they've done it for psychological reasons that bring a sense of mental comfort for them when they can collectively talk about the guy like he's the worst individual on the planet! What you're witnessing when they bash Peterson is them participating in a therapy session to ease the angst and frustration they have from leaving a high demand religion, and they find it easy to transfer their deep rooted hatred for the religion they left behind on Peterson. I mean, it's human nature really. Most people do it in someway or another. It's just that the particular board members here have chosen Peterson as their Satan which allows them to dump their inner turmoil onto him! Once they get their daily fix of ragging on Peterson, they have a temporary sense of "peace" until the next day or so, when by then, their inner turmoil has gotten to a point that they need to unload it, so they can feel that temporary peace again, so they come back to this forum to unload their inner turmoil on Peterson. It's a vicious cycle that they have become accustomed to!! Peterson knows it, that's why he doesn't post here!

Anyways, here's an image for you to help you understand how many of the board members that post to this thread view Peterson. They have turned this man into their personal Satan for their mental well being. Like I said, it's human nature to do so, but what it show us is, they like to tell everyone how intelligent they are, but it proves they're as ignorant as a box of rocks!

I think that is over the top and quite an exaggeration.

Don’t forget none of us have families or lives outside of discussing DCP. Making a few posts about him a month takes up every ounce of what limited brain power we have (breathing, drinking, and eating necessarily takes us away from expressing the seething hatred of DCP).

I noticed an overrepresentation of posts and comments concerning Dan Peterson, The Afore, The Proprietor, etc., but I figured he had done something horrible to several members here in the past, like ate their pets or something. In the past there was mutual participation with Mr. Peterson on at least a couple of message boards, one ZLMB was sort of a predecessor of this board. He admitted it was a bit of an addiction he desired to break. Why try to break that effort?

I certainly do not see him as all bad. On the one hand something like Mormon male privilege may contribute to sloppy use of sources. On the other hand he admitted to liking listening to Eric Clapton.

What makes this whole thing funny and entertaining, from my neverMo perspective, is that Peterson often writes from a seemingly lofty place, so when Gad or somebody else successfully gets under his skin, it punctures that image a little. I’m actually surprised he gets so visibly irritated by internet hecklers. You’d think responding would feel like punching below his weight. The added entertainment value is “The Before/Nolan” pretending to be a mediator while not especially subtle about what he’s doing.

Hound has high expectations for people. On another thread he provided his expectations of me in order for him to answer a question. Now, it's interesting, message boards are places where people routinely ask and answer questions even if it's to or from people they don't care for. But for hound, if he's going to answer a question, then a person must obtain a certain standard. Here's what's expected.

1) take him off ignroe
2) stop acting alike a piece of crap
3) stop being loyal to my friends.

And that's assuming he would ever agree that I succeeded on any of these.

Well, I have a counter offer. I'll take Hound off ignore if he starts his own message board and dedicates it to showing respect and courtesy to Doc Cam, Canpakes, and Some Schmo.
