I just can't think of one. If anyone had suggested this as a parody, I would have rejected it as just too implausible even for Trump.

Does America have any soldiers left in senior positions who are brave enough to say "Er, no, we didn't ask him to do that"? If there aren't any left, is not that situation just a leetle weeny bit dangerous?

Are you suggesting that loading a large, unfortified and highly-visible box - in the middle of a busy traffic circle and with easy vehicular access from multiple directions right up to its foundation, including by random passersby - with explosives and snipers is a bad idea from a security and safety standpoint?

But, yes … a number of military folks have spoken out about the apparent ludicrousness of this idea from that standpoint, and veterans groups have also spoken out about how this Trumpy arch would also block the view of Arlington.

I can’t imagine that there aren’t more pressing matters for Trump to be obsessing about, but I’ve come to expect very little from Trump with regard to addressing the critical needs of Americans.
