She has now been to 40 states and logged more than 20,000 miles, many of them since that fateful August meeting. She tours the country by commercial air, advising small groups of state and local officials on combating transmission. She pulls a small suitcase packed with essentials and an array of the signature scarves she wears each day. Her friends call it her "self-exile."

91,000+ cases today, and according to a Drudge-linked article El Paso is out of ICU space and is air lifting patients to other cities. Inb4 the O c—— chimes in with some irrelevant nonsense. Also, out here in Utah we’re creeping up on 2,000 cases a day. My neighborhood just lost a sweet Pacific Islander lady to Covid a few days ago who was eulogized by the Governor who refused to implement a mask mandate. Crazy days.
I know...our state is averaging about 1700 new cases per day. One day was over 2K and today looks like it will finish about the same. At 1800K right now. Our mayor's are backing right into restrictions. I expect to be under full restrictions within 2 weeks if not sooner. I read that we are 4 weeks behind Europe, so watch what is going on over there. We'll be there soon.
This ain't funny. I'm working at topping off the food storage and getting ready to ride this out as best we can.

Sorry to hear that about your neighbor, Cam. Stay safe.
he/him we all just have to live through it,
holding each other’s hands.
I’ve been hot and cold on Birx, but I have nothing but admiration for what she’s done after being replaced by the radiologist.
Since she's been largely out of the public eye, I thought she had gone passive. I'm heartened to see what she's been doing all this time. I had no idea.
She, Fauci and other's like them, give me a sense of hope. Or at least confidence.

Not a bad way to salve your conscience for complicity with the nightmare of Trump. Decent penance.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
