"According to Woodruff, Joseph Smith was told in an open vision that the bones were those of a white Lamanite whose name was Zelph." (Kenneth Godfry, "What is the Significance of Zelph in the Study of Book of Mormon Geography?" in Journal of Book of Mormon Studies, 8:2 (1999): 73).
How did the bones of this white Lamanite come to be included in this Native American burial mound?

He was transported by Ezekiel's spaceship of wheels. He then report to Onandagus (spellings vary, such as Omandagus) his experience and vision and hidden in the Words of Dido, which have been kept from the wickedness in the world and will be revealed only when the 116 lost pages are translated, wherein the account is had.

I sure hope I didn't make Shulem mad! I was toying with him, having some fun, and acting like an apologist to show him he has fun stuff on his side... it was all meant in good humor and fun not serious.

Yet thou hast been shown wisdom which is above all the heavens herewith in that thereunto therefore thou shalt not repent and stop thine studies, but forthwith hasten to therefore add to the glory of knowledge for all mankind with which they may become more enlightened. Thine labors are sanctified before the holy looking for reality as thou laborest remember thy brethren and sisters in darkness, and hold forth the light of knowledge that they too may be glorified.

Behold, my dear Philo,

It is my will that you be enlightened and learn and taste the satisfying fruits of knowing first hand what Joseph Smith was up to. I will enlighten you because you seek enlightenment at my humble hands and because I am jacked into Joseph Smith, I am therefore qualified to speak for him. How does that sound, my dear old apologetic Book of Abraham friend? Joseph Smith speaks through me! Yeah, JOSEPH, he's my buddy!

<chuckles>

Now, know this: Joseph Smith used maps available to him to provide a pattern for his Book of Mormon as I have so far shown in this thread. And, I revealed to you, my dear Philo, that the land of Nephi *IS* the Virginia peninsula located on a US map that Joseph Smith used.

But I shall provide more details for you so that you may better understand. Behold, Lehi landed on the southern tip of the Delmarva peninsula which is also the State of Virginia. That is the beginning of the promised land according to the Book of Mormon covenant made to Nephi. I can explain all the geography to you so that you may understand. But first, the southern tip of the peninsula is where Lehi landed and where they planted all their seeds and began to colonize. Later, Nephi took his band with him and wandered a little northward inside the narrow strip or tail for the space of many days and began his own colony apart from Laman & Lemuel. That colony was also on that narrow strip of land which looks like a tail leading up to the first river that empties into the Chesapeake Bay. The long tail of land adjoins the southern narrow strip and is THE LAND OF NEPHI. The first river is Sidon. The main branch of the Sidon river runs mostly south into the the west sea. That river divides the land of Nephi from the land of Zarahemla located on the other side to the west. Hence, the land east of the river is the land of Nephi and Zarahemla is on the other side of the river. It was the long and narrow strip and river that separated the two lands. The coastal passage to the east led to the coastal city of Moroni or into Manti and ultimately Zarahemla.

It's all right there if you will just open your eyes and compare the map with how Smith described the geography. I hope you're grateful for what I'm sharing with you.

The geography I have been explaining in this thread really, really, does work. Baby, it's the best thing going! You got the Land of Nephi at the southern tail and Zarahemla and all the junk that flanks it. Then you continue up to Bountiful and the narrow neck of land that adjoins Desolation and into the land northward into Jordon and Moron and ultimately to Cumorah.

:)

I bear you my testimony that I know these things are true. Read the Book of Mormon and look at the map. Then you too, can know for yourself that it's true!

Lehi lands in America

Philo (and anyone else who gives a damn),

Let's put this in perspective and appeal directly to the novel and imagine the map which I've so graciously provided multiple times in this thread. Place your eyes on the tip or southern most part of Delmarva, the tail. That is contact point in which Lehi set his foot upon the very soil in which would one day become America.

1 Nephi 18:23-25 wrote:And it came to pass that after we had sailed for the space of many days we did arrive at the promised land; and we went forth upon the land, and did pitch our tents; and we did call it the promised land.

And it came to pass that we did begin to till the earth, and we began to plant seeds; yea, we did put all our seeds into the earth, which we had brought from the land of Jerusalem. And it came to pass that they did grow exceedingly; wherefore, we were blessed in abundance.

And it came to pass that we did find upon the land of promise, as we journeyed in the wilderness, that there were beasts in the forests of every kind, both the cow and the ox, and the ass and the horse, and the goat and the wild goat, and all manner of wild animals, which were for the use of men. And we did find all manner of ore, both of gold, and of silver, and of copper.

• Original Nephite landing
• Pitch tents and plant crops
• Expedition into the wilderness revealed animals of all kinds in the forests
• All manner of ore is found

So, the real journey now begins. The ship which they used to traverse the Atlantic is worth nothing more than material to aid in establishing their new colony. The real Book of Mormon now begins. This is where Joseph Smith's imagination starts to brew and stories come to life in his novel within the geography of the map he had in his possession.

From Point A to Point B

Post by Shulem »

Philo, please permit me to cite the verses in question that show how Nephi separated from his brethren and began his own colony on the tail of Delmarva. Keep your eye on the map! That's what Joseph Smith did. ;)

2 Nephi 5:5-16 wrote:And it came to pass that the Lord did warn me, that I, Nephi, should depart from them and flee into the wilderness, and all those who would go with me.

Wherefore, it came to pass that I, Nephi, did take my family, and also Zoram and his family, and Sam, mine elder brother and his family, and Jacob and Joseph, my younger brethren, and also my sisters, and all those who would go with me. And all those who would go with me were those who believed in the warnings and the revelations of God; wherefore, they did hearken unto my words.

And we did take our tents and whatsoever things were possible for us, and did journey in the wilderness for the space of many days. And after we had journeyed for the space of many days we did pitch our tents.

And my people would that we should call the name of the place Nephi; wherefore, we did call it Nephi.

And all those who were with me did take upon them to call themselves the people of Nephi.

And we did observe to keep the judgments, and the statutes, and the commandments of the Lord in all things, according to the law of Moses.

And the Lord was with us; and we did prosper exceedingly; for we did sow seed, and we did reap again in abundance. And we began to raise flocks, and herds, and animals of every kind.

And I, Nephi, had also brought the records which were engraven upon the plates of brass; and also the ball, or compass, which was prepared for my father by the hand of the Lord, according to that which is written.

And it came to pass that we began to prosper exceedingly, and to multiply in the land.

And I, Nephi, did take the sword of Laban, and after the manner of it did make many swords, lest by any means the people who were now called Lamanites should come upon us and destroy us; for I knew their hatred towards me and my children and those who were called my people.

And I did teach my people to build buildings, and to work in all manner of wood, and of iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores, which were in great abundance.

And I, Nephi, did build a temple; and I did construct it after the manner of the temple of Solomon save it were not built of so many precious things; for they were not to be found upon the land, wherefore, it could not be built like unto Solomon’s temple. But the manner of the construction was like unto the temple of Solomon; and the workmanship thereof was exceedingly fine.

• Nephi flees from the original land of inheritance
• New Nephite land
• Sow seed and harvest in abundance
• Raise flocks and herds
• Forge swords
• Build buildings
• Work with iron, copper, brass, steel, gold, silver, and precious ores
• Construct a temple patterned after Solomon’s temple

Nephi separated from Laman and Lemuel by a distance of only "days", not by weeks or longer, therefore Point A is the distance of "the space of many days", so the distance between the two was not really that much. They just separated and began a new colony in the land of Nephi, in the tail of Delmarva. I've explain in great detail why Smith did not state the number of days they spent traveling from Point A to Point B in this thread: Fake Book of Mormon Geography -- holes in the script

Indeed, like "wheels" (Ezekiel 1:16-21; 10:10) that roll forth in time and space, wheels within wheels (galaxies & star systems) turning in a never ending state of being.

Point B continued

Post by Shulem »

Enos 1:20, 21 wrote:And I bear record that the people of Nephi did seek diligently to restore the Lamanites unto the true faith in God. But our labors were vain; their hatred was fixed, and they were led by their evil nature that they became wild, and ferocious, and a blood-thirsty people, full of idolatry and filthiness; feeding upon beasts of prey; dwelling in tents, and wandering about in the wilderness with a short skin girdle about their loins and their heads shaven; and their skill was in the bow, and in the cimeter, and the ax. And many of them did eat nothing save it was raw meat; and they were continually seeking to destroy us.

And it came to pass that the people of Nephi did till the land, and raise all manner of grain, and of fruit, and flocks of herds, and flocks of all manner of cattle of every kind, and goats, and wild goats, and also many horses.

• Lamanites are a wild people dwelling in tents and wandering about the wilderness
• Lamanites wear short skins around their loins and have shaven heads
• Lamanites are skilled with the bow, cimeter, and ax
• Lamanites eat raw meat and hunt Nephites
• Nephites till the land and raise all manner of grain
• Nephites grow fruit, tend flocks and herds including: Cattle, goats, and horses

Here we plainly see that Point A is very close to Point B in the land of Nephi. They live in a fluid zone but have staked out their own territories but live in a state of constant conflict. Smith is developing a highly racist novel and showing stark differences in how the so-called righteous live so much better than the wicked.
