Bought, I have followed Shulems thread and it has not occurred to me that it would matter if Joseph had ever been there. Shulem is proposing that a map was a guide to keeping a relationship between story locations in a good order. I have been thinking that he is making a strong case but have wondered if somebody more intimate with the book can see any significant failures in the theory.Bought Yahoo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 9:45 pmCould be. But no evidence Joseph Smith was ever there???Shulem wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 9:01 pm
Thank you for the positive endorsement of sound reason. The Delmarva model can be vigorously argued using the text to show exactly how it fits the map in which Smith may have used to pinpoint where he wanted to start Nephi's journey. It fits the map beautifully with directions and landforms.
Let me just say that if Delmarva was a hilly region with a few peaks and lots of ancient Indian ruins, there never would have been a question of where the Book of Mormon occurred in the minds of apologists. They would have nailed Delmarva from the get-go. The problem is there is no archeological ruins there and it's generally flat. But Smith didn't necessarily know that looking at his map.
Delmarva IS the land of Nephi. There is no question about it in my mind. The Book of Mormon text confirms it on so many levels. The other models fall flat and contradict the text. The other models are nothing at all what I read in the Book of Mormon. They are illogical and deformed reproductions of what the Book of Mormon text describes.

Shulem rather stretches his presentation out but it is orderly and rational as he gets on with it.

I don't see it. All that weird stuff. Perhaps someone can explain to me succinctly his measurements.huckelberry wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:59 pmBought, I have followed Shulems thread and it has not occurred to me that it would matter if Joseph had ever been there. Or you can stop pretending you can't read and do it yourself. Your act is getting old.Bought Yahoo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 11:08 pmI don't see it. All that weird stuff. Perhaps someone can explain to me succinctly his measurements.huckelberry wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 10:59 pm

Exactly. He's playing a game and I'm on to him. Not playing his retarded games.
Too bad for him his paper didn't get published. He's welcome to publish it on this board if he has the balls to do that.
Publish your garbage and let's see how far it flies under Discuss Mormonism scrutiny.

So, nobody can explain Paul's measurement theory here? I thought so. Je suppose que c'est ainsi que les choses se passent.Shulem wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 11:54 pm
