This thread is about whether or not to restore a mod team. Still and all, I'd like to make a suggestion that piggy backs off Gad's offer to take care of the place. If I were asked to make the call this very day, I would suggest Gad and RI work together at least through this interim period until Shades is able to return.

I think they'd work well as a team and collaborate as to what is needed at least in the short term. Two heads are better...and would result in some good coverage for the board.

And I said this in the Paradise threads pertaining to repeated calls for moderation. There is literally nothing that a moderator can do here that cannot be reversed should Shades determine it needed correction.

All they would need to do up front is identify any housekeeping they think needs tending to and then act on reports as they come in. That would tide us over, I think.

At any point in the 8 months before I got here you could've told Doc Cam to settle down and not call posters mushroom dick sucking assholes. But you didn't. Now, I'm your target because you can't accept responsibility for breaking the rules yourself.

Just to emphasize, there is no rule requiring people who post here to confront the person who posts something that breaks the rules. Also, the rules have no exceptions that allow one to break the rules in response to others breaking the rules.

Mike also assumes that no one has ever raised Doc's posting style with him. That would be incorrect. in my opinion, raising this kind of issue with another poster is more likely to have some effect if it is done privately. That takes the public posturing out of the discussion.
