It's my opinion that Consig has his second anointing. Maybe I know something; maybe I don't.
I also tend to believe none of the apologists have theirs. The Second Anointing I always thought was tied to higher level church service, like Mission President, or large financial contributions.
If this is correct, then imagine how jealous the apologists must be of Consiglieri.
Ha! I can get to the bottom of this, since we have become very good friends, and I know him well, and research with him now, and he has done the Mormonism Live! on the Second Anointing, I will ask him and he won't tell me, because, as he and Reel showed, you're not supposed to talk about it, not even admit it...
I am pretty sure Hugh Nibley had his second anointing.
I was just going to say this as well. Of all apologists he would pretty much be in the positive list of achievement. The brethren, though he scolded them, loved him like no other. And for his part, he defended them pretty well also.
I concur. Church leaders knew it was vital to keep Nibley inline and in the fold. They must have seen the wisdom of having him receive the Second Anointing. Keeping him in the fold was absolutely critical seeing how dangerous he could have been had he turned on the Church. It was too much of a liability to risk Nibley going rogue. Anoint him!
Radio Free Mormon? Nope. He's been anointed just once and that won't be enough to save his apostate hide. Ain't that right, RFM?
I think consiglieri should have it even if he does not. There are elements of his personal life that cast a shade of doubt on my mind regarding his actually having received it, and they have nothing to do with his podcasting or participation here.
In any case, it kinda bums me out that I will never receive mine, but then it is not what it was in its earliest stages. I will have to rely on other means to obtain my exaltation. Fortunately there is more than one way to skin that cat.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
Does anyone have a good handle on what exactly entitles one to a 2nd Anointing? A temple president is kind of self-evident, but it’s just speculation on my part.

From what I understand you need to be "nominated" by someone who has received it.
