Yes and no. I suppose I could fairly easily make a modernised version of a muzzle-loading matchlock musket with things I could find in my shed. Or even a breech loading one-shot gun using modern cartridges.

But anything enabling me to achieve the rapid multishot capacity of even a bolt-action weapon, let alone an automatic, so that I could launch a successful career as a school shooter? Naah. Even 3D printing can't get you there yet at any affordable cost, and probably not even if that is no barrier. And the result is certainly not 'very simple'.

Yes, guns enhance our ability to kill things. That's why my wife and girls know how to shoot tools that kill people. A 120lbs woman has almost no chance against a male intruder if she doesn't have a gun. What if kids involved? Does a mother have the right to defend her children? If not a gun, then what should she be "allowed" to use to defend her children?
