Oh, so I guess I'm thankful it took me very little analysis to realize the church was full of crap and that I left when I was young.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

So yeah, Lemmie, I once confessed to the bishop that I masturbated. Today, I'd be reminiscing fondly about it if they wanted to listen.
This reminds me of a post on one of these sites by a guy who when asked by his bishop, who was assessing his worthiness to be called on a mission, if he had a problem with masturbation, answered cheerfully, "No, not at all; it works for me every time!"
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

What kind of non-personal things are Gadianton, Lemmie, Dr. Scratch, Honorentheos, and Dr. Shades thankful for? What about Kerry, Shulem, Res Ipsa, Bought Yahoo, Dastardly Stem, and others?

Must all the thanks come from those others?
Non-personal? Hmm. I think of gratitude as a subjective thing, so that's a tricky question for which I don't have a ready answer.
