RI see this?

People are already using it for that purpose. And that's just the first one I saw.

Definitely agree with DCam, and def am supporting the call for a snowflake board. Can't wait, myself.

Oh yeah, the Bible, verse by verse. I’d forgotten about that.

I don’t care how it happens, but I think there should be a place to hold religious discussions under Celestial rules. I’m a fan of a new top tier above Paradise, but you can’t always get what you want.

That's one of the very reasons that I listed the installment of a G rated forum in Old Testament in my list of proposals. Did you see the name I picked out? ;-)

Did you see AM's response to the proposal? Yeah. Telling that was.

Celestial. Others have started say, Christian exclusive related threads there. Bible scripture threads. It's totally kosher to do so.

I agree. (says Yoda)

I enjoy the Celestial Forum the most. That is my place I like to reside and hang out. It helps me be a better person. I can assure you that if I say anything that upsets you I will try to make it right. The Celestial Forum is a safe place. It is a place where we are to respect each other and learn how to express ourselves without stepping on others in an unChrist like way.
I work in the elementary schools and today we discussed how to be a good citizen digitally. I think when we don't see who we're talking to or in their presence it's easy to be jerks to each other, but feel we all could work on realizing what we're trying to teach to the youth or children, seems we adults need to learn a lot!

Xenophon, in effect, channeled me when he made his responses to you. Everything he said is 100% on the money. But to reiterate:
  • The Celestial Forum is exactly what you want. Post there and see.
  • BE the change you want to see at DiscussMormonism.com. If you aren't seeing the threads you want to see, start them yourself instead of complaining that they don't exist.

Let's have a positive place for posters who still believe in God and want to discuss religion without being bombarded by left wing lunatics. If you don't like that , guess what, I don't care.
I could be wrong about this, but you might want to consider something that I think you’re overlooking.

This board wasn’t set up to protect your, or my, or anyone else’s feelings. The nature of this board is to allow some direct, honest, and - at times - rough’n’tumble interaction between folks and their opinions. That’s one of its better-known attributes, and I’d wager that plenty of participants are thankful for that atmosphere.

That said, you and the other new guy mounted a campaign against the board on the claim that some posters weren’t suitably ‘nice enough’ to other posters. Fair enough. Certainly, some language limitations would benefit everyone. And now Shades is considering moderators to get the board to that point.

I think that on at least one occasion, you’ve said that you see this change as a victory that you had some effect on bringing about.

But, what does this change mean?

Neither Shades nor other moderators are going to task themselves with ensuring you a ‘safe place’ to start threads, where your opinions cannot be challenged.

The spirit and intent of the board will remain as it always has … along with some renewed enforcement of rules that have been around for a very long time and that have largely been respected by almost everyone.

What this also means is that the folks you classify as your nemeses will still be here to challenge you. And - being the smart and clever folks that they are - they’ll be able to adapt to tighter language rules enforcement, and still be able to insult your socks off in ways that are both artistically sophisticated and specifically forum-appropriate.

What will you do, then? Throw a tantrum and threaten to bend everyone over and screw them in the arse?

There is a board participant here who replaced almost 1000 of his crap posts with the phrase, “be careful what you wish for”. It’s a pretty appropriate sentiment for what will happen here, and unless you choose to adapt, any new changes will likely affect you much more than just about anyone else.
