I've already told you how it can be used and you totally ignored both my post and my points.Sledge wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:41 pmMy IP is owned by Comcast. I don't think you operate like an ignorant person, so I'm going with misleading. But either way, I trust you less as this weird moderator campaign goes on.
So you're wrong. But thanks for playing. Unfortunately I don't have a door prize.
What I do have is a commitment to be the best damn moderator you've ever had, and I only ask for a 90 day trial!

Re: CALL FOR MODERATORS
Because I posted an IP address that will likely change tomorrow? Is that grandstanding? I was only attempting to show how IP addresses are meaningless.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:42 pmUm, yeah, no. Based on that move alone, I would never endorse you as a moderator here. Maybe unless you quit grandstanding over a long period of time. Otherwise, no.
Look, I've been the victim of doxxing attempts. It's not a joke. I take privacy very seriously. As a moderator I would have no reason to need an IP address, and even if I looked at one there is nothing I could or would do with it.

Do you live in Bonita Springs, Florida?Sledge wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 9:54 pmYou cannot discover personal information from an IP address. Here's my current IP:

LOL, no. That’s the crazy thing about IPs. I’m also on a VPN.

Mopologist have done this? And Sledge, who is desperate to be a moderator here, even for just 90 DAYS!, is online friends with Peterson, has outstanding posts attacking Shades on SeN, and has referred to board members here as anti-Mormon bigots. Only after his posts were exposed, he apologized and said he was just 'trolling' Shades.Dr Moore wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 9:23 pmHow easy it would be for Sledge to share IP addresses with interested parties, which has actually been done on other boards to in order for Mopologists to identify places of employment and ultimately a near bullseye identification of people who are now active at this very board today. Yes, that's a vote of no confidence from me, too.

Four posters have volunteered.
Only one is campaigning.
Less is more, I say. Less is more.

And those three may each have an implicit bias against the CofJCofLDS to some extent or another. Unless they are superhuman and able to compartmentalize without exercising preferential treatment, they should not be allowed as moderators either. How is that to be entertained or measured?Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 11:21 pmFour posters have volunteered.

At the end of the day, the ‘majority rules’ operational mode will probably affix itself to whatever decision is made.
I think Sledge should be given a trial period…along with the other three candidates…to prove himself (theirselves) to the satisfaction of the community. But to let a few, yet the majority, loud voices rule the day would be unfortunate, in my opinion.

Keep digging. A residential Comcast IP is one thing. But you're wrong, sir, and you're lying now. Some businesses, as well as government and academic institutions, are identifiable by IP addresses. I'm sure you know this. Nice straw man attempt. My vote is officially "No" on Sledge.Sledge wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:41 pmMy IP is owned by Comcast.
