A really good sign, to me, is that a mod stepped in today and fixed the very ugly mis-attribution. (mg's phrase: 'fecal smell of your posts.')

In the past I would not have reported something like that, because I wouldn't have wanted to overload the mods with a request I wasn't sure qualified for moderation. On the other hand, posting mis-attributions like that, and then leaving them standing in spite of multiple requests for correction, is yet another mean-spirited troll-like behavior that disrupts. Ignoring it means leaving up an incorrect post that I would never want attributed to me, so it's a no-win situation.

Having a mod step in and do this now gives me hope that, in the future, I can simply report the mis-attribution and walk away, confident that it will be corrected. This would then derail the derailment that inevitably follows asking for a correction. It takes away at least one troll-like trick in the arsenal of disruptive derailing.

I had forgotten about ludwigm. Perhaps a lot (well, maybe all) of his posts & comments were off topic, but as I recall he was always interesting and thought provoking.
