I have to say this. I think God spared our lives when He put people into this world that would become passionate scientists that developed the vaccines. I will never change my thinking on that and I strain to understand those who believe otherwise.
I’m reading some YA books by Stephen Fry, ’Mythos’, ‘Heroes’, and ‘Troy’, and one of the big takeaways about god belief, whether it’s ancient or now, is that whole lotta people have belief in a dude (Jupiter, Zeus, Odin, Krishna, Elohim, et al) who resides elsewhere and they all share very similar traits along with similarities within their mythos, all predicated upon the travails their adherents are experiencing. It’s interesting to me how God is reflective of the believer, whether it’s a not-insane person like yourself who senses her spirituality acutely and balances it with truths found through a sound comprehension of the sciences (your god wants you to be enlightened and to love others as you love yourself) or the narcissistic believer who’s spirituality serves them first and foremost and who ends up a paranoid and delusional devotee of a jealous and selective god who is capricious and fickle.

Yes, I've studied those belief systems as well. If you ever get a chance to read Karen Armstrong's, A History of God, it's very interesting and shows how essential God belief developed in humankind--think Sky God, Thunder God--views of the ancients. Not wanting to derail here, but I am not at all sure that God is a "he" or if God even exists. I think that's where faith and belief enter the picture, and of course, indoctrination. I know what my orientation is, if you will, my world view, and I'm very open to the perspectives of others. I think no less of an Atheist than I do anyone else because I think we're all on this rolling ball in space trying to figure stuff out and what our part in it is. I have a huge problem with hypocrisy. I try to be away of my own and check myself, and I don't mind someone pointing it out to me. Yes and you kind of pegged me there in terms of sensing. I would add to that that I rely heavily on intuition--part of my personality. But whatever. We are all on a journey in life and that journey can sometimes be very complex. I think I can learn just as much from you as I can in terms of engaging my own spirituality. I mean, it's all free for the asking, isn't it? Why not see if there might be some benefit to you and your life, from the guy virtually sitting next to you in the room. It occurs to me that I'm explaining things that you probably already know about me.
[/one off--not a derail]
LIGHT HAS A NAME
We only get stronger when we are lifting something that is heavier than what we are used to. ~ KF
I mentioned this elsewhere but early on high levels of cathepsin L was discovered in Covid patients and CatL helps break the shell of the virus open to get to the payload. Chloroquine inhibits CatL, and so it only made since to give it a shot. Later it was discovered that TMPRSS2 is a more important protease for Covid than CatL. There is a drug called Camostat that will inhibit TMPRSS2. But that doesn't work alone either. I found a peer-reviewed paper that shows in a petri dish, inhibitors for both CatL and TMPRSS2 block Covid 100%. Not able to find any real-people studies.
But for viruses, the best defense will always be the immune system, so the vaccine is where it's at. Might as well save the hospital trip altogether, even if you can find some other BS drugs that help.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.
This is so aggravating, terrible, horrifying, mind boggling, tragic, and unnecessary. It makes me feel like I hate people. I mean, come ON, people. Are they suicidal?
