One of our family members has a digital smoker. He cooks remotely when he's at work! Trager or Trayger? Something like that. Makes all kinds of good stuff!

I've been looking at a few different brands but I am leaning towards a Traeger at this point. Any suggestions?DaveIsHere wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:45 pmBro, depending on the brand, you won't be disappointed. Slow we cooking or smoking meat is the way.

Yeah - I am thinking along these lines too. If I don't get an electric one with wood pellets that are continuously sent in to keep the temp at a specific number, I would have to babysit the cook and considering the things I am interested in trying (Pork Butt, Brisket, etc) these can be several hours cook time - some recipes can be up to 20-24 hour cooks.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:48 pmOne of our family members has a digital smoker. I don't know how to run the thing but I can tell you that everything that comes out of that grill/smoker is really good be it a piece of meat, pizza, or whatever. Even a Thanksgiving turkey. I kid you not.ceeboo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:59 pmYeah - I am thinking along these lines too. Using the low and slow smoker method? How did the turkey turn out?

I don't know what method was used. I don't know how to operate it. It's not mine. The turkey was AWESOME.

Would I be wrong if I made a thread just for smoking/grilling meats? It's something I'm kinda passionate about, and y'all seem interested in. Yeah or no?
If a Giant's pronouns are "fee, fi, fi, and fum", does that mean short people's pronouns are "oompa, loompa, and doopity-doo"?

Not really sure, I used an COTS slow cooker from Walmart, but. My smoker is basically two 55gal drums I fabricated into a smoker. So short of cutting and welding, go with what the reviews say, I guess?ceeboo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:52 pmI've been looking at a few different brands but I am leaning towards a Traeger at this point.
