Re: Vaccine or not?
So weird. The A.I. algorithms must be running vaccine codes. I spent a good portion of last night’s dreaming on acquiring and administering vaccines to the fam. FYI, according to the A.I. they’re fine.
Also, I sincerely hope exactly zero of the Trumpists out there who believe the vaccines cause problems or th3 mInD cOnTr0l put themselves through the ordeal.

Re: Vaccine or not?
Being a septuagenarian, I'll probably get the vaccine after the first wave of health care workers, nursing homes and high-risk individuals. UC San Francisco is one of the first hospitals that will get the Pfizer vaccine. I'm guesstimating late Febrary or early March before I'm vaccinated.
Barring any horror stories that appear in the interim, I will get vaccinated. Obviously I'll look carefully at data prior to actually getting the shot(s). I know the timetable has been accelerated for safety verification, which is a cause for concern and a reason to be very careful monitoring post-shot symptoms.
I've been out of work since March (Tour Guide). Looking forward to what Harding called as "a return to normalcy".

I'm guessing March for us here. But it's only a guess. When I do get vaccinated I will report in on both experiences here. I hope that you will do the same, MeDot.MeDotOrg wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 7:52 pmBeing a septuagenarian, I'll probably get the vaccine after the first wave of health care workers, nursing homes and high-risk individuals. I do have a twinge of hesitancy but here is the thing. I figure we're not getting any younger around here and I don't like feeling like I've been robbed of a whole year or more of my life by the time this is all said and done. For me it's either trust the science/technology and get the vaccine or self isolate until the world reaches a state of immunization induced herd immunity.
So far as I am concerned, I am burning daylight and I want out of here.

Re: Vaccine or not?
Some reporters got too overheated on this. The US has pre-ordered more than 2 doses of vaccine for every American. They just aren’t all from Pfizer. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03370-6

It was an option to buy an FDA-approved vaccine. He passed up on the opportunity to stockpile doses of Pfizer's vaccine should FDA approve it. The deal was based on them delivering said vaccines. I think he passed on it because he felt slighted by them - they passed on some presser a while back or something, and I think this was retaliation. Admittedly, I'm hazy on the details.

Re: Vaccine or not?
Cam I admittedly haven't investigated this at any length though I have heard about it of course. I think there are also contracts with Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and I think one other company the name of which escapes me at the moment. I think there were 4 all total but I am having a hard time keeping this all straight in my head.
If I am right about that, this thing that you posted is yet another example of the media trying to unnerve the public. That's not journalism. That's sensationalism worthy of a tabloid. In my view, the line between the two has been blurred to the point where this is no longer a line.
This is the stuff that keeps me up at night. The constant jerking around from all sides.

Perhaps. The admin is the one that made a big deal in the summer that it had a contract with Pfizer to get 500 million doses. I think Pfizer is first in the chute with the vax? Couple that with today's executive order and I'm reluctant to cut them slack- remember the virus was supposed to magically disappear after the 3rd.
But, sure. I can see where you and RI are coming from.

Yes, Pfizer was first. Moderna is about to follow pending FDA approval.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 10:23 pmPerhaps. Just know that I don't think I know everything. There's so much crap going down I can hardly keep it straight right now. I should probably investigate further before speculating my behind off.

Re: Vaccine or not?
Wait. What executive order are you talking about? Is it the one where's he is making demands on Pfizer or something. If that is the case, I don't think he's in a position to demand anything from anyone. Maybe he is just show boating for the masses.
