When a Religion is good, I conceive that it will support itself; and when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support, so that its Professors are oblig’d to call for the help of the Civil Power, ’tis a Sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.

The Mormon Church and her daughter affiliations have no reason to and no need to nor does it seek to apologize for using their T.I.T.S. to gain membership... (Dallin "The Church is True No Matter What We Do" Oaks)

They are intended for a youth and young adult audience as part of our efforts to provide accurate, well-documented answers to criticisms of the doctrine, practice and history of the Church.
No other group has contributed to the content, style, performance, production, or distribution of our videos. FairMormon alone is responsible for the content shared on the videos, and our websites.
This is The Show” video series isn’t a change in our course, It’s our first attempt to support young people—using means, methods, and media commonly familiar to them—in their efforts to understand and defend sincere and insincere questions or attacks on their faith and beliefs.
It is a blatant breach of human decency to suggest these videos "provide accurate, well-documents answers to criticisms.." Everyone knows that, even those who support FAIR. I've seen two videos and there is basically nothing documented, as I recall, and no effort whatsoever to be accurate. They will provide little beyond a few sarcastic taunts. I don't doubt there are some young BYU student types who will enjoy these videos. Some people like false bravado and mockery when it comes to characterizing those who they disagree with. It gives them confidence, gives them "feeling the spirit" moments after, perhaps, having heard a critique of their faith "yeah...Runnells is just really dishonest. And the Church is good and everything else is bad." That was actually a summary of the one video I watched where they brought on Satan for a few giggles. No, serious it was a 6 and half minute video saying things like Runnells is dishonest and his Letter is utter garbage designed to get people to sin because, apparently, anyone who doesn't agree with the church have no morals. That FAIR is proclaiming something like that as being "accurate, well-documented" or anything near an effort to "defend sincere and insincere questions or attacks" they are lying, as blatantly as anyone can.

FairMormon alone is responsible for the content. They can't really weasel out of their lies at this point. It appears they are happily taking on the added attention and think these videos are somehow productive, in the realm of defending the faith.

On the flip side I've revisited parts of the CES Letter. I recall feeling pretty underwhelmed when I first read it, but going back I'd say it's not too shabby at all. Its no wonder FAIR Mormon has gone to desperate measures to attack it. I doubt there is much more than a few decent points to make in response to it. It appears fair has tried so many times to take it down, but has failed and that is understandable since the CES Letter seems like a good faith effort to be honest. #NewfoundrespectforCESLeetter here.

This is how the Corporation has become. More impressed with numbers and quantity than scholarship and quality. Like the Baseball Baptisms. FAR and away better to get 55,000 baptism's even though 54,999 of them will never even set foot in a church, than to get one quality family of 6 actual believing people. The image leaves the impression of outstanding growth! And that's the name of the Corporate game, image not substance! Interpreter falls right in line with this. Vastly superior to have 55 mediocre, reprints of articles in one year than just a mere 4 good solid quality articles. People will be impressed, not with their truth, but their busy-ness. Busyness is always superior to actual production of quality with Corporations. It's the old industrial thinking of an assembly line basis instead of quality product. What they will garner from all this "attention" is snot nosed kids who won't stick for more than a few years at best. Then they will have to come up with a justified porno schtick to keep people watching, perhaps the sister missionaries in bikini's bearing their testimonies (and shoulders)? For a Second Anointing quality, perhaps if they showed their cleavage they could get 1,000,000 baptisms of young teenaged boys so they can then start impressing the world with how many more missionaries they now have. Who knows?

We do not seek to be unkind in these videos, but to be clear the CES letter questioned our claims that are dishonest and wrong. You will recall that Christ called people liars, hypocrites, vipers, whited sepulchurs, and sported a whip to cleanse the temple. We are simply sporting wit and humor to sell our product. That snuff film was a hoot!

This redditor's response on the r/latterdaysaints faithful site was interesting:
I feel that these videos are doing more damage than good.

Trying to use comedy and "caricature" to refute serious topics such as church history and doctrine is not a way to change hearts and open minds to dispel the half-truths and misconceptions put forth by those against the church.

I actually emailed FAIR yesterday and said basically the same thing, and got a response asking me to "provide us with specific examples from any individual video with a rough time stamp of what you see could be improved, and specifically how you would see us do it differently to keep it effective."

If they can't see that what they're doing is not being received well, then there's really no hope for them at all.
But then.... they added this edit later:

Edit... I think I need to clarify my stance just a little. I'm just one guy, who happened to not like these videos. I voiced my opinion; I know that nothing is going to change regarding the videos, and I'm fine with that. I may have come off as a little crabby and like an old man yelling at clouds, and I do apologize for ranting and being overly critical in my comments about the videos.

In reality, it's a great effort being done and I 100% support it. The only thing I would love to see change is the tone of the videos.
[bolding added]

Wow, what caused the edit? Somebody reported them? Talk about a 180 about-face.
