actually it is right on time. See in America, a person is not president-elect until the electoral college votes. Contrary to your idea that news agency projections getting to make that call. So Mitch literally was "spot on".
Oh, I see. So in the past, it has been customary for senior politicians and outgoing presidents to wait for the electoral college vote before offering congratulations to the people who won the election for president and vice-president? Really? C'mon now, who do you think you are fooling with this?

Let's think ... how long did Bush wait to congratulate Obama? How long did Obama wait to congratulate Trump? ... not very long after reports were in on election night or the morning after, I think you'll find. And that practice of a fairly speedy concession and congratulation goes a long, long way back, doesn't it?
Hilary, manning up vastly more than Trump ever can, congratulated him, and conceded THE VERY NEXT DAY.

Now that Putin has acknowledged the Biden win, maybe the Biden Admin. can cozy up a bit. Maybe say, an easing of some sanctions for a pee tape.

Not true. Most were acknowledging Bush's victory after the Supreme Court decision on the 12th of December. The Electoral College meets on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December, which in 2000 was on the 15th.

But as you say, Subs, why let American History and American Law corrupt your own personal freedom fries view of our land.

That was an election where both sides were agreed that there was an issue putting the outcome of the election in doubt, and that the outcome would depend on whether recounts involving a 500-vote margin in Florida (hanging chads and all) would change the result in their favour. Neither of the candidates had any reasonable expectation that the other would concede until the issue was settled. Eventually the Supreme Court solved the impasse by ordering that recounts should cease.

By the end of November the 7th, it was clear that Biden had not only won the popular vote, but also won enough crucial states to swing the electoral college. If Trump had been a normal kind pf person instead of an ego-freak, he would have spared the country any further conflict, and admitted what was obvious - even to Fox News - and conceded gracefully. But as we know, he didn't, because he can't admit he lost.

Now even McConnell has abandoned him. Sad.

But ... according to you, McConnell was only waiting until the Electoral College had voted. Admitting that (though it contradicts the practice of pretty well all previous elections) why does not Trump not follow McConnell's example and offer his congratulations and good wishes in his turn? If the college's vote is good enough for McConnell, why not for Trump?

by the way, according to you, Biden is now President Elect, right? Could you just confirm that?

Oh, right, i forgot that the offense under consideration was one about what was "customary". Like how British troops were offended by Soon-To-Be-Americans unorthodox fighting methods.
I appreciate, but not necessarily understand, your sudden conservative mindset on wanting to preserve that which is traditional.

You always manage to put your foot in your mouth whenever you imagine that you’re insulting someone else.

Considering an ‘apples to apples’ sort of comparison between 2000 and today, here’s what the candidate who’s case did not succeed with the Supreme Court had to say:

Let there be no doubt, while I strongly disagree with the court's decision, I accept it. I accept the finality of this outcome, which will be ratified next Monday in the Electoral College ... I particularly urge all who stood with us to unite behind our next president ... it’s time for me to go.

Both Al Gore and Hillary Clinton have bigger balls and significantly more maturity than the sensitive, fleshy orange-tinged snowflake hiding out in his White House bunker.

There is no question that Hillary Clinton has danglies, but while she conceded shenever stopped contesting the election. You guys are without integrity on your calls for "tradition" and "civility" on any election outcome, let alone a fraudulent one.

I don’t see that I mentioned or was concerned about either tradition or civility. I’m just amused by how your call for an ‘apples to apples’ comparison backfires so badly for you here.

I’m further amused at the level of butthurt that you continue to exhibit, as well as the unmatched scale and quantity of same exhibited by Trumpers on the whole. I appreciate your intense desire to one-up the bad behavior of all of your perceived political opponents, both in intensity and volume.

So, sure - continue to whine about how everyone else was whiny over the past 4 years, and continue stomping your feet about an election that you don’t actually believe exhibited massive use of narrow and targeted voter fraud.
