This is the worst Treason Weasel Day ever! I just finished watching the Senate debate, where a crap ton of Treason Weasels were promised. But there were only six. Just six Treason Weasels in the Senate. Boy, the Biden administration is going to have to declare Treason Weasels an endangered species.

Some of us out here in the rest of the world (me and Jens Stoltenberg, Nato secretary general, for instance) are watching.

And our jaws are down on to the floor. I never dreamed that this could happen. Why were adequate police resources not waiting in reserve on a day when there was such an obvious risk of major disorder? I am trying to imagine a mob successfully breaking into the Houses of Parliament or the German Bundestag, and I simply do not believe it would be physically possible in face of the forces that would be deployed.

How? How could this happen? Is America there any more?

Thank goodness some light has dawned in Georgia. What a dreadful end to the Trump era ... but maybe there is worse to come?

Yes. America is most definitely here. And yes, it is dreadful and yes it is frightening and yes it is messy, but we will rise. There's a stage in human birth called transition. This is where we are at this very moment. I can tell you that there is at least one Jersey Girl who has gone to tears and who is fresh out of adjectives to describe what she is seeing and why? Because birth is hard and we are laboring in real time.
