There appears to be no explanation for this action. Which, of course, is not surprising. When was the last time the Brethren explained any actions?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I've heard that Fred (can't remember his last name), who played John and was on "Center Street" on BYUTV, came out as gay. But I can't confirm that.

Even if that is true (and I can't confirm because I know nothing about Fred), being gay isn't an offense, in and of itself. Or has that changed? ThaT just being gay gets a person erased now?

Well, I guess it's public now.

I was in Fred's ward years ago, and he's one of the nicest, most sincere Church members I have ever met. It really tore me up when he "came out" to his friends and shared how much he had struggled with his homosexuality. In the Temple movie, it looks like they only altered the scenes where he was easily identifiable, so it's still him in the long-shots.

He had some interesting stories about filming the Temple movie. Apparently they went way out onto the Church's property in Wyoming, but the anti-Mormons in a helicopter were still able to find them and try to disrupt (or see) what was going on.

Fred was also the "We've gotta go back" elder in the Church's "Labor of Love" video. I wonder if they'll edit that too...?
