There have ALWAYS been "two" Cumorahs......
You all forget that Moroni TRAVELED many miles and years before he ultimately deposited the plates, clearly in a Cumorah not the same as the traditional one. Even the OLD "Voice from the Dust" or whatever video compilation shows this from some 30 years ago.
In fact, you idiots don't even realize that the Book of Mormon doesn't even state WERE Moroni deposited the plates. The NY Cumorah was called that LATER!!!

ldsfaqs,
Perhaps you should calm down, lose the CAPS, read what has been written, look up the references, and then think for a minute before responding.
As has been discussed on other threads, it is pretty clear that you and subgenius do not know very much about the doctrine and teachings of LDS Church compared to many of the critics who post on this board.
Just so you understand, the LDS prophets listed in the above posts have stated, unequivocally, that the Hill Cumorah site in upstate New York, where Joseph Smith claims to have found the golden plates, is the same place where the great and final battle described in the Book of Mormon took place (the complete lack of any archeological evidence of such a battle notwithstanding).
This position of the First Presidency of the Church was re-affirmed in 1990 in the so-called Watson Letter, which has been referred to above. If you have not seen this letter, there are a number of signed copies of it available on the internet.
Before you start referring to folks who obviously know a whole lot more than you do about the LDS Church and its history as "idiots", you should do your homework. You could learn a lot here.
I would expect that, once you determine for yourself that
sock and the others who have posted above are, in fact, fairly and accurately representing LDS belief in this matter, you would apologize to them.
