I am currently considering the purchase of an electric smoker (pellet wood chips/auger variety) so if I make the move, I will be sure to report my successes and failures with you.
One of our family members has a digital smoker. He cooks remotely when he's at work! Trager or Trayger? Something like that. Makes all kinds of good stuff!

Bro, depending on the brand, you won't be disappointed. Slow we cooking or smoking meat is the way.
I've been looking at a few different brands but I am leaning towards a Traeger at this point. Any suggestions?

Yeah - I am thinking along these lines too. If I don't get an electric one with wood pellets that are continuously sent in to keep the temp at a specific number, I would have to babysit the cook and considering the things I am interested in trying (Pork Butt, Brisket, etc) these can be several hours cook time - some recipes can be up to 20-24 hour cooks.

I don't know how to run the thing but I can tell you that everything that comes out of that grill/smoker is really good be it a piece of meat, pizza, or whatever. Even a Thanksgiving turkey. I kid you not.

Using the low and slow smoker method? How did the turkey turn out?

I don't know what method was used. I don't know how to operate it. It's not mine. The turkey was AWESOME.

Would I be wrong if I made a thread just for smoking/grilling meats? It's something I'm kinda passionate about, and y'all seem interested in. Yeah or no?

Not really sure, I used an COTS slow cooker from Walmart, but. My smoker is basically two 55gal drums I fabricated into a smoker. So short of cutting and welding, go with what the reviews say, I guess?
