Yes, that's the one thing you won't subject to the shell game.

That may work too. By the way, what do you mean "wasn't"? I was under the impression you are still a Church attender?

I'm describing myself when I still believed. I do attend.

You simply don't get it. If I showed up a church on Sunday with a fake earring everyone would chuckle, knowing full well it was fake. They know me too well to know I wouldn't ever care two licks about how I look enough to go and get an earring for some sort of immature statement--which is about the gist of any particular reason I would get an earring.

Well sounds like you would have to get a real one then.
What's funny is you really think you know that my ward would start gossiping about me and judging me. Oh brother. You don't have a clue do you?

I'm pretty sure they would if it was real!
I can already guess what they think when they see someone with an earring, "interesting looking fella. Perhaps I'll go over and meet him and learn his story". They certainly aren't going to think, "what a chump. I hate him for his effort to appear at my church building with an earring in his ear."

I'm talking about someone they already know. If suddenly the bishop, or elders qurom leader got an earing don't you think people would be talking? Don't you think the stak pres would ask the bishop to take out the earing? Don't you think the bishop would ask the Elders Qurom prez to take out the earing.

I've even seen young men that even had long hair been asked by the bishop to cut their hair.

My sisters use to wear more than one earing and they stopped cause the prophet counselled them not to wear them. If they did keep wearing them the other young women would've mentioned things to them and so their leaders would encourage them not to wear them.

Let me ask you this Stem, say you were the Elders Qurom prez and one of your Elders wanted to get a earing. Would you not encourage them not to get it? After they got it would you not encourage them to take it out? Or would you just be like… whatever! Wouldn't it be some of your responsibility to encourage the Elders to follow the counsel of the prophet?

People talk anyway. I don't' know about start talking. But if someone got an earring and showed up I don't think anyone is going to go on and on about how bad the person is.

I've seen plenty who stillwear more than one set. No big deal to me.

I honestly would not care at all and would wonder why in the world some elder is coming to me about getting an earring.

baha sorry but I don't think you will ever be in any leadership position in the church. Most of them do care about stuff like that.

Yep...definitely misunderstood and now you're being misleading. I never would think it "invalid".

Okay, let me try this again: MsJack brought up her tolerant protestant faith by mocking the GA counsel on piercings and her Mormon husband was gushing that all the relatives could see them get married by the wonderful protestant minister unlike in a Mormon temple ceremony. And how he got a piercing for her birthday. Her tone was mocking of LDS customs and practices.

I showed her that her wonderful protestant faith was not that tolerant in the past because protestants burned down Mormon homes in the 1830s. End of story.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.
