Everyone here has already helped in my journey of 11+ years here. Just being an ear to listen, a place to drop my feelings and a place to obtain feedback from your insights to life is all anyone could ask.
I've just been working on organizing financial things, working on budgets, looking into disability/SSS retirement options, looking to hold out at work till next July 22nd to see my wife get to Medicare, just trying to plan ahead.
I don't know yet that things are all as dire as I'm planning for here (ie. having this turn out to be MND). Just trying to get things in order.
When I was having my surgeries I filled out a Do Not Resuscitate form at the local hospital. However, I've learned that I need to be much more descriptive of my desires that a DNR filled out by me at check-in at the hospital before the first surgery. My family have no idea of what I filled out and filed there. The Final Exit Network's home page links
6 Steps Living Will.
Their 26 page guide for filling out the will and the will are free and range the whole spectrum of, 'do everything possible to prolong my life' through 'let nature take its place' to help me go when I get to some point.
The main idea being, don't burden your family with having to make decisions for you if you are unable and they don't intimately know your wishes. I could share a very negative personal family story about a healthy daughter making a decision for her mother that has haunted her these 20+ years later. I assume others here have similar stories.
My advice to everyone here ... go here and fill out your Living Will and get copies of it to those whom you love. Once again ...
