Yes, but not THAT much fun. You see, I remember the old days when real meaty mopologists roamed this board, and could be engaged in combat on issues that were, essentially, matters of fact or logic. They lost, and they left.

So, no more red meat in this forum. All we have left is a single solitary jellyfish, infinitely slithery and elusive, and even if you do catch him he doesn't taste of anything much.
The toxicity of the virus and its ongoing nature of spreading keeps many away. As it is, I’ve found it rather interesting to observe over time. But it can be rather sickening unless one keeps their distance.

So, I understand you to say by keeping your distance and posting less, the sickening nature of this board doesn't bother you as much.

[edit, UR1 -c-]

PS. What's the kings name in Mosiah 21:28?

7,500 posts MG, congratulations on your continued prolific posting! Quantity over quality is certainly one way to go about discussing Mormonism…
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

He's almost caught up with me at 8,012 posts.

MG has been on this board a long time and has never been able to tell us the king's name in Facsimile No. 3. I've asked him over 25 times and he refuses to answer.

Why?

Because he's trolling us and everyone knows it, including himself.

I'll ask him another 25 times over the years to come. He's not getting off the hook.

Yes, but keep in mind that he’s got 7,500 posts with his 2.0 iteration. Imagine how many it would be if we took into account his 1.0 posts. He posted another 500 times or so as “mentalgymnast”. It’s an ironic achievement for someone who preached the notion that people should spend less time on their keyboards. It’s like he doesn’t practice what he preaches, which to be fair is a very Mormon thing to do.

I don't need to imagine. I've got the facts:

The Old Mormon Discussions Board:

_mentalgymnast = 8,012 posts
_Shulem = 12,072 posts

MG, please let’s please address this. I think Huck has made a good point. I’m genuinely interested in your opinion.

Many who have abandoned Church affiliation believe that they’ve often heard Church authorities blame their defections on a desire to sin, laziness, or just being trivially offended. Understandably, ex-Mormons take umbrage at this. Are they wrong? Are they perceiving something that isn’t really happening?

Many on this board also have the impression that you sometimes engage in this same behavior. Again, are they wrong?
Truthfully, I think we would have to sit in a circle in a room and have a transactional face to face discussion on this rather sensitive topic. Want to arrange that? I’ll show up if it isn’t too far away. Please, after Christmas. ;)

I REALLY don’t know any of you people. The funny thing is, you somehow think you know me so well…

Let me know where and when. I’ll bring ice cream if you’ll bring the toppings. Know alcohol or mind altering drugs. Let’s keep it real. :)

Real life group dynamics aren’t even closely aligned with the realities of a board like this one. Man, what would it be like to sit down with some of you with a bowl of ice cream in hand. :lol:

Regards,
MG

Solid response, Huck.

The offer reads like “I don’t want to have to be harsh, but I have to lay down rules to “keep it real” for your soft serve chastisement.”

I was a faithful Mormon. No booze, drugs, masterbation or anything "sinful" my whole life.

I may have picked my nose a few times in Sacrament Meeting.

I didn't leave "the Church" to sin.

But after I left, I married a good woman five years later, we have three wondeful boys, and I started doing all all those things eventually. And liked it.

But none of them now. (I think my weiner fell off last month. I need to check.)

Maybe I can be a slave in the Celestial Kingdom after all is said and done.

Please Joseph. I'm sorry for all the stuff I said about you, especially the true stuff.

Especially if he was to quote wretched verses from the Book of Mormon and horrible threats from the Doctrine and Covenants that breathe out threats against those who criticize the Church. In all seriousness, the Doctrine and Covenants is a disgusting compilation of insidious threats made against those who oppose Joseph Smith's truth claims. It is a hate book!
