Why is coffee not calling my name?

This thread made me realize that I haven't been bothered by the Holy Ghost since I became an apostate. I really didn't miss him because he just heaped on shame and guilt anyway. He was really good at reminding me that I was unworthy of his presence. He has no power over me now that I no longer subscribe to Mormon doctrines of fear.

This morning I invited him in for a cup of coffee. He really is a pretty cool cat when you are on more equal footing. He complimented me on a fine cup of joe. I told him to come back this afternoon and I would by him a beer.

Maybe I should start a thread, "Apostate Conversations with the Holy Ghost".

I'm going to chime in on this one too. How do we know what the HG considers to be unholy? According to Jesus in ACIM, the only sacred place is one where an ancient hatred has been resolved.

Agreed. The Christian god is a much more powerful and compelling figure than the Mormon God, who seems petty. Not that the Christian god doesn't seem petty at times, but not to the same extent as the Mormon God.

Fantastic title and concept. It would make a great book, maybe a compilation of essays relating such conversations. I would title a chapter "Boo! You're It!"

If only BY had known about this, he'd have required each Mormon age 10 or older drink 128 oz. of coffee per day. Too bad all JSJr could think of for Kirtland hallucinations was wine on an empty stomach. But hey, if you do that, jehovah will wisk by.

I don't know how you are reading this verse. (?) This Psalm is singing the praises of God and is a petition for forgiveness. Verse 11 is asking God to turn His face from the sin that has been committed and erase the sinners guilt. Verse 12 goes on to ask God for a clean heart and a renewal of spirit.

It seems very clear to me. God can cast a person from his pressence and the holy spirit can be taken away from someone. Such is the plea from the psalmist: do not leave me and cast the holy spirit from my pressence. Enough said.

Anything like this on coke or pepsi? Let it go coffee is not the boogey man you in your fearful and unquestioningly submissive state make it out to be. The church says bad must be badder than anything.
