My God's title is capitalized. Even Bertrand Russell had sufficient class and maturity to capitalize the word.

It's obvious that you're just looking for more ways to take offense. Remember the council of Elder Bednar.

Doctor Scratch wrote:Here's the thing, Dan: Did you also "counsel" interfaith couples in a similar way? How about overweight couples? Couples with physical disabilities? Couples where one of the people has a mental illness? Or was your "realism" just limited to the issue of race?

Young couples preparing to go to the temple (or seeking to be married by me) typically came to me several times for counseling and interviews. Typically at their request, sometimes at my request.

I counseled with them over a whole range of issues, certainly not limited to "race" -- which was only rarely relevant.

That's what bishops do.

Doctor Scratch wrote:Regardless, there's something remarkably strange about your description of sitting down a young couple and scaring/lecturing them about all the problems they're going to face, and then punting them off to go get sealed for Time & Eternity in the temple.

A very disingenuous summation, rhetorically speaking.

I didn't "lecture" them. I think you could ask any of my "parishioners" who came to me for counseling and they would find that verb inappropriate. Nor did I seek to "scare" them.

And "punting them off"? It's true that, when they married, they left my singles ward. Would you prefer that I stalk them for the rest of their lives? Wouldn't that then kick in your alternative attack strategy, according to which I "meddle" in the lives of others? Nonetheless, I was usually in close contact with them right up to their weddings, when able to do so attended their weddings and their receptions, and, in more than a few cases, have remained in contact with them since (mostly at their initiative).

Doctor Scratch wrote:Frankly, I'm stunned that you can't see the problems inherent in this, Dr. Peterson.

My monstrously evil character routinely "stuns" you. I've long since ceased to care about your bizarre and hostile distortions, if I ever really did.

Doctor Scratch wrote:I genuinely hope that you've stopped with this "realism," and that you've resolved to treat interracial couples the same way you treat white couples.

Nice try, Scratch. But the novelty of your dishonest attempt to depict me as a racist faded several years ago.

You seem to be unfamiliar with atonality.

Don't worry, young one. There's time to learn.

Buffalo would then fit in quite nicely with my ward choir.
