Sorry to intrude again, but I forgot this mandatory quote from Hamlet:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

I'm actually on your side, so don't worry. If you can dream, consider me one among you. We should not be too concerned about what scholars, especially what the "ivory" type scholars, call "evidence". Emotion is a better gauge.

If it feels good, and especially if it feeds our prejudices, then it must be true. Hard to argue with such solid reasoning.

Where and When do we lynch Nibley's bastard son? I have my stones ready.

I apologize for having led you to believe that I am, in fact, the bastard child of two fictional characters.

Hugh Nibley is a fictional character?

This Book of Abraham thing just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

The Facsimile 4 was an ancient Egyptian bingo card, translated as Book of Lowe.

That may be your "response" to the point of the thread. My response to you is that since you behave like a lunatic jackass, this is what you can expect coming back at you.

You are the one whose games provided the fodder for such nonsense. If you had any self control or ability to reflect on the implications of your actions in the first place, you wouldn't have provided people the ammo to abuse the memory of Hugh Nibley further.

But you don't really care about the memory of Dr. Nibley. You care about your own entertainment and ego.

Get classy, Willard.

Tabitha wrote:Thank you. I know his reputation, but I wonder why Mr. Schryver would make these comments, even in jest. As an outside observer, I was left with the impression that Mr. Schryver wanted to lead readers like myself to this conclusion, without being direct.

I'm still waiting for you to post a link to Schryver's comments. I searched (via Google) for "Darth Nibley" and "Hugh Vader" but the only hit is your OP on this thread. It's not that I don't trust you. It's just the kind of thing Schryver would say. But I wanted to read the rest of the thread where this was said. What was the context?

??? I'm so confused. Is "static" a Schryver sockpuppet? I can't keep track.

It would appear so. I am not a mod and I do not have access to the kind of information that would help confirm the fact, but he is obviously speaking for William Schryver at the very least.

Friendly Appalachian nicknames aside, exactly why do you believe it necessary to be so, well, rude? Do I know you?

My point remains the same. If Tabitha is so gullible as to take a few vague statements and construct a huge conspiracy theory that is this laughably absurd, then this is a forum I want to be a member of!
