I have got to tell a story! Actually two. I was going to post this in reply to RI but it looks like more posts have been made. So here goes.
The first board I was on for 10 years was divided into two houses/forums. One was for LDS discussions, the other for science, politics, etc. Eventually it seemed as if all the topics crossed over into the LDS side of the house. A new male poster arrived. This guy could hold his own in the areas of science and politics. On that board he was surrounded by actual scientists, professors and whatnot. Yet, hold his own he did. Come to find out later, the kid was legit 16 years old. Verified 16 years old. Amazing!
Much later, a female poster arrived who simply blew everyone away. The way she presented was such that her intellect was rivaled only by her quirky way of posting. You couldn't ignore her. She was that captivating. She was 14 years old.
You know her as Pirate.

I don't think it's intended to be taken as true. It's flat out trolling.
Clearly. But why troll along those lines?. Combined with the viciously misogynistic comments he has made recently, this latest example says quite a bit about the troller.
Because he thinks it's provoking? When really, it's just damned juvenile.

I've never considered anyone quitting the board as a victory. I don't see the board as a war. And it's kind of hilarious to see a couple guys wander into a small community of folks on the internet, disrupt it as much as they can for a few weeks, and thump their chests as if they've accomplished some kind of great victory.
I get bored playing with trolls, so I resort to the ignore function pretty quickly. Others get a kick out of it. **Shrugs** Different strokes.
What the “F” ever. Do we need to ignore the comments about successfully poking people in the eye? And are we supposed to just shrug when entire threads are dedicated to the immorality, ignorance and uneducated status of the the "right wing"?
No, you're supposed to engage it. With your brain. Or ignore it as the case may be.

Res, you may actually believe all this crap that you are saying. But that is not a reflection of what really happens on this board and you certainly do not appear to have any rejections of the exact opposite existing on the board.
You could have no earthly idea what happens on this board. You tripped over a few negative comments, decided the place needed a savior, and went about the business of trolling it end to end, and then deleting the evidence of your trolling. This community has been online approx. 15 years. So unless you were reading it from your crib or bothered to read it beyond the first few threads you opened when you went looking for a victim, you'd have no idea what happens here.
I do not think this board needs more moderation because it will not matter or change a goddamn thing. This is the board of The One True Way to be an Ex-Mormon Godfuckingdamnit. Asking Dr. Shades or another moderator to protect your Church of Jesus Christ of not the "Right Wing" is a selfish request. Do it your own goddamn self if it matters to you.
The only thing that moderation protects is the integrity of the board. Posts moved to their rightful place/forum. But you don't know that.
You don't know much of anything at all.

Hahaha!! Not entertaining huh? Then why do you keep telling me you're going to ignore me but end up never ignoring me???? You and Lem/calm love me and can't get enough of me, you know it's true! For over a month now all you guys have been saying is, ignore Atlanticmike, ignore Atlanticmike , but you never do. Funny story!! Back when my wife and I first got married I switched to her ward because we rented an apartment in her ward boundary. After like 6 or 7 weeks the bishop came up to us and asked if we could sit in the back of the chapel instead of the front because so many women were constantly staring at me. Apparently he felt uncomfortable seeing all this happening from the stand . Even though me, you and Lem/calm have never met, Its natural you girls are becoming infatuated with me through the screen. Have the dreams of me started yet? If not, they should be hitting you any day now

But still, you haven't ignored. I think it's funny you don't believe me! What have I said that's unbelievable?? Gee whiz, yesterday you guys gave me grief because I left my house at 3:30am and made it to the beach and in the water by 5:30. And some how you guys found that unbelievable?? I've been doing that ever since I could drive. Same with fishing and hunting. We will get up at 3am during hunting season all the time, it's not a big deal. But to you guys, you make a huuuuge deal out of it. Here, I'll throw you a bone, there's a few videos on you tube that I'm in. If you want to search, look through night surfing videos and listen really closely. You'll see me if you find the correct video. As for the bishop asking me to move to the back, I hadn't thought about for a while. But you and Lem/calm keep saying you're going to ignore me but for some reason you never do!!! I guess that's why I thought about the whole move to the back story. But dang!! If you're going to ignore me than do it!!

…It's very simple to understand why Cultellus and Mike are so opposed to moderation: if the rules that we have (which have been basically the same for over a decade) are actually enforced (like there have been for over a decade), they can't disrupt every single discussion on the board with their trolling. Their whole strategy is a "protection racket" -- if you don't behave the way we want you to behave, we'll disrupt your board until you all quit.

That pretty much sums it up. Although mike’s description of himself as so attractive to “so many women” that a bishop asked him to sit in the back is a tiny little gem in his sea of crap. A precious, not even close to being true, ridiculous gem. Wow.
I have an idea. Why can't we nominate him as Special Person of the Week? We can read his All About Me book to the class and look at his family photos, the dog even. Check out his favorite color, sports, hobbies, what he wants to be when he grows up?
Pretty sure I have a crown pattern in my files.
